The reports, as CPSC published them

Reports people made to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission. CPSC publishes each one after sending it to the company named, and doesn’t guarantee they’re accurate. A report isn’t a recall.

Each report is the words of the person who made it, as CPSC published them. The company’s comments, where CPSC published any, are set apart as the company’s own.

  1. No one hurt

Made Sep 7, 2026, sent to the company Sep 10, 2026, published by CPSC Sep 24, 2026

The product, in the report: Playmat Terrazzo Play Mat Stormy Gray. Large - 6 feet x 12 feet. A foam mat for kids.

Safety Complaint Children’s Play Mat With Persistent Chemical Odor, Adverse Health Effects, and No Product Identification

I am reporting a children’s play mat that may present a potential health and safety hazard. The product has an extremely strong chemical odor that has persisted despite approximately one month of continuous airing. The odor has not gone away or diminished sufficiently to make the product reasonably usable. Exposure to the mat causes the following symptoms: nasal congestion, severe headache, watery/irritated eyes. Because this product is marketed and intended for children’s use, I am concerned that it may be emitting hazardous chemicals or volatile substances and may not comply with applicable federal children’s product safety requirements. There is also no identifying labeling on the product or its packaging. The mat has no visible manufacturer name, importer information, model number, date or place of manufacture, lot/batch number, tracking code, or other permanent product identification. There were no instructions or identifying labels included with the product or on its packaging. I am particularly concerned that the absence of identifying information may make it difficult to determine the manufacturer, importer, production date, manufacturing location, or production batch if a safety defect or chemical hazard is identified. I am requesting that CPSC investigate this product and the responsible manufacturer/importer and, if appropriate, obtain and test a product sample for chemical emissions and other applicable safety requirements. I would also appreciate an assessment of whether the product complies with applicable children’s product tracking-label, testing, certification, and other safety requirements. I have retained the product and can provide photographs, purchase records, the original packaging, the online product listing, and any other information requested by CPSC.
