The product, in the report: Simmons® Kids Slumbertime Monterey 4-in-1 Convertible Crib Rustic Grey

My husband and I purchased the Simmons® Kids Slumbertime Monterey 4-in-1 Convertible Crib for our son while I was pregnant. We have not had any issues until the morning of 5/26/18. At 2:43am our 9 month old son, who sleeps solidly through the night, woke up screaming. My husband who is a firefighter went up first to see what was wrong. He found our sons leg stuck between the spindles of his crib. He tried several different things to try to free his leg but nothing would work. I told him to break the crib in order to get it out. His leg was turning red and it was becoming very serious. As my husband was starting to break the spindle it bent just enough at the same time our son jerked his leg that it came out. Two nights later, it happened again. Not as serious, but enough to wake him up, and for him to cry for help.

I have emailed the company and have not heard back from them. I bought this crib with the understanding that it would keep our son safe. We no longer feel that he is safe but aren’t sure what the solution is.

Other parents should be aware of this as it’s very dangerous. Our son has several bruises from this incident. Our peace of mind is gone. We aren’t supposed to use bumpers and there is no release for the spindles. I would like to know what we are supposed to do.
