The product, in the report: Union 4-in1 convertible crib, sold exclusively on Amazon: http://www.amazon.com/Union-4-in-1-Convertible-Crib-Grey/dp/B00JL6LOT0/ref=cm_cr_pr_product_top
I recently purchased the Union 4-in-1 Convertible crib, which is a new product sold exclusively by Amazon, for my first child. My husband assembled it today, and one of the top bolts that holds the sides together snapped apart in two pieces as he was screwing it in. He was using an ordinary allen wrench, not a power tool, and wasn’t over tightening or using any unusual force. Neither of us has ever had a bolt break apart like this in anything we’ve assembled. Without the bolt, the crib is clearly shaky and unstable.
I am thankful that the bolt broke while we were assembling it and not while our baby was sleeping in it, but I am seriously concerned that the quality of the hardware in this product is low and a child will be injured as a result. I am also concerned about the quality of the other bolts. A crib is supposed to be the one place it is safe to leave your child. The hardware used in this crib is clearly not safe.
