At first I couldn’t get it out and thought I was going to have to break the crib. I had to pull very hard but I finally got it free. His leg was pretty red and had very minor bruising.

    Storkcraft Tuscany 4-in-1 crib

The bottom of my daughter’s crib collapsed. She had just woken from a nap and was standing in the corner when it collapsed. She did not sustain any injuries.

The support screw (front right) ripped out of it’s socket - damaging the socket and the screw. Almost immediately the three remaining screws also popped out. We are unable to re-secure the bottom mattress support frame & board due to the damaged socket. We had the mattress in the lowest position since originally assembling it in August 2011 (never moved it). She began using it in March 2012 and it collapsed 13 Oct 2013 when she was 23 months and around 25 lbs. Originally purchased from Babies-r-us on 15 Aug 2011.

I contacted Storkcraft and was told simply that they would sell me a replacement part.

The product, in the report: The crib is a white with fixed sides and it converts to a toddler bed and a full size frame. It is a storkcraft and the name is Sheffield

Early yesterday morning my daughter got her leg stuck through the crib and between the crib and the wall. I went to get her unstuck but since the crib is lowered all the way (she can stand up) and I am short I had to lean on the crib a bit to reach her. As I was trying to get her leg out I heard a loud pop and noticed the top rail of the crib cracked, and is close to breaking in half. Since my daughter can stand there’s a risk of her pinching her hand or her mouth (since she’s teething and always putting chewing on things) or worse, putting enough pressure on it while she stands to break it in half completely. I have contacted the manufacturer several times as my daughter now has no bed of her own and they don’t seem to understand the severity of this case as they have not yet responded and told me to wait. I’m not fat, I only weight about 115 pounds so it shouldn’t have broken so easily. I have friends who said they sit on the rails of their kids’ cribs and have had no issue. Me slightly leaning on it causing it to break is ridiculous!

The product, in the report: Brown, Stork Craft Sheffield stages crib

My 7 month old son is using a Storkcraft crib. on a couple different occasions, he has gotten his leg stuck in between the slats on the crib. once was just to his calf, and another time was clear to his knee. The fist time he became trapped, his leg was easily removed. However, the second time was not as easy. He was trapped in such a way that his leg was twisted at a different angle then what his body should have allowed. He has not received any broken bones at this time, but has came very close. His leg both times has become bruised. First time bruising went away within a few days, and the second time took almost a week. I would greatly appreciate a new regulation on these crib slats. They are spaced too far apart and infants are getting their limbs stuck.

The product, in the report: (Model number: 04588-32N )= Aspen Stages Crib-Natural The Country of Manufacture: INDONESIA The Date of manufacture: APRIL 05

I am writing because I have a safety issue with the front rail of my sons crib. The crib is a Stork craft model 04588-32N+ and I have owned it for 4 years which I understand is past it’s parts warranty, but there is no expiration date on the crib so there is no reason why I shouldn’t expect it to be safe for my baby to use. My son usually wakes up in a very happy mood and will immediately stand up holding onto the front rail and make happy sounds while bouncing up and down (he doesn’t use his crib like a trampoline). I have a video/audio system installed in his room and as soon as I see him wake up I go and get him, I never leave him alone in his crib when he is awake and we do not misuse the crib in any way. When my son woke up the other day and started bouncing the crib rail cracked leaving a sharp piece of wood protruding from it. Thankfully I was just arriving into his room when it happened and was able to get him before he got hurt. My son is only 30 inches tall and does not come close to exceeding the height requirement for this crib and there is no weight limit. Mothers trust that when they place their babies in their crib that it is supposed to be a safe place for them to be and I and very upset that this happened. Also since the top railing cracked it is a potential suffocation hazard because if my son was laying against the railing on his mattress the rail bends away from the crib and would allow for him to slide down and get stuck between the crib rail and mattress. I don’t know if it was a defect in this particular rail but it is alarming that my baby was able to break his crib and if I didn’t immediately get my son when he woke up it could have been a different story. Thank God I never listened to the doctor and let him cry it out in a his crib since it is supposed to be a “safe place” to leave your baby.

The product, in the report: Crib

The consumer stated that her 20 months (25 pounds) daughter was inside the crib for approximately 20 to 30 minutes when her 10 year old daughter informed her that something was wrong with the crib.

The consumer stated that her daughter’s crib has four solid metal brackets located at the bottom of the bed to support a wood board that supports the mattress. She stated that one of the brackets broke in half and the board and mattress dropped on the back right side of the crib. The consumer stated that the edges where the metal bracket broke were very sharp and exposed. The consumers crib poses the same hazards stated on recall #09-093.

The consumer stated that her daughter slipped into the corner and her foot was stuck in the space between the board and the frame. The consumer pushed the wood board and mattress down to have space to remove her daughter’s foot out from between the mattress and the frame of the crib.

She stated that her daughter was not injured.

The consumer stated that she had a bracket from a shelf and she screwed the bracket to the board and the crib frame to provide support to the mattress. She stated that she tried to fix the crib by placing and a new bracket to support the mattress for the night.

The consumer was trying to contact the manufacturer because she would like to receive the correct mattress metal support to fix her daughter’s crib properly. She also stated that she tried to contact the manufacturer and she is unable to get in contact with them.

My 13month old daughter (who weighs 25 lbs) was taking her morning nap this morning, I heard a crash and then screaming on the monitor. I went upstairs and the back of the crib had collapsed and she was pinned imbetween the crib and the wall. I was able to move the crib and get to her. She is a little banged up, she has bruising on her lower back, left shoulder, and a small bump on the top of her head. I immediately called my husband who called the Storkcraft company. This is a brand new crib that supposedly met the safety standards. We are waiting to hear back from the company but just did not want this to happen to another family. It could have been devastating.

my son was sitting in his crib playing while i was putting his clothes in his closet, He was laughing then all of a sudden he got quiet I turned around and he had a piece of wood in his mouth. The piece of wood came off of a slat on the crib. my son is not strong enough to just break a slat. it looked like it might have been split and he just pulled on it to get it off. If he was asleep and woke up and I was not in the room he could have swallowed or choked on the piece of wood. I have spent 2 weeks trying to get Storkcraft to take care of this issue or at least tell me if I need to pay to replace the piece but i Have called at least 6 times and each time have spent at least 20 minutes on hold before i could even talk to anybody about the issue.

I am very unsatisfied with this product. my son is only 9 months old and I thought the crib would have lasted a long time. when I put him in his crib i expect it to be a safe place for him but apparently I was wrong.

I have a Storkcraft madison 4 in1 crib used for my son. My son (16 months old) was able to climb from the crib into the attached changing table by using the slats attached to the changing table, there should be no bars there at all, they are high up giving him somewhere to put his feet which allowed him to climb it. Once he was on the changing table he stood up and lost his balance and fell to the ground hitting his head pretty hard.

Recently my 2 year old sons leg was trapped inbetween the slats of the crib which i almost had to break the slats to free his leg . his leg was trapped right at his knee area which caused swelling , bruising , and a very scared baby now to sleep in a crib . They suggested if I was unhappy that I should return it. I realize it wasn’t her head that was stuck, but she was unable to move and had welts on her legs from being stuck. In my opinion it could have resulted in a much more serious injury and therefore I will not use the crib anymore. Now I am stuck trying to figure out how I am going to return this crib.

THe drop side of the crib became unattached, I had to go buy a new one as I had emailed the company without any resolution. Walmart said they could not do anything to get ahold of the company.

The product, in the report: Storkcraft Bradford 4-in-1 Crib

I have a storkcraft Bradford 4-in-1 crib. The wooden pieces that are lined along the sides back and front are very flimsy and can be broken very easily. The matress is 2-3 inches away from the side of the crib and our daughter has got her arm and leg both caught in the matress support because of the gap. There has been no serious injury. But there is always a chance that she could get her head stuck and well. We have quit using this crib and put her in her pack and play. We did not notice these problems until we removed her bumpers and she is now bigger and can move around a little more.

The product, in the report: Stationary crib

While the 18 month young 24 pound toddler was sleeping. She heard him screaming to the top of his lungs in the middle. She went into his room and noticed that the toddlers left leg up to his knee was caught in between the slats of the crib .

In attempting to free his leg she pulled on the slats and attempted to push his leg back. The toddler has gotten his leg caught in between the slats on two occasions the first occasion was around February. The most recent occasion occurred on June 5, 2011 and he receive a minor bruise on both sides of his knee cap where his leg was wedged in between the slats.

The firm was contacted when the first incident occurred and she spoke with a representative from the firm (name unknown) who indicated if the slats were a certain amount of inches apart (exact inches are unknown) then the crib was safe.

The most recent incident the firm was not contacted she stated that they are taking her concerns with the cribs to lately. She currently allows the toddler to sleep with her in fear of his leg being wedged in between the slats and breaking his leg.

The product, in the report: regular Crib

Caller placed her 9 month daughter in her crib, turned around to put clothes away but then heard her baby daughter cry out then begin crying. Caller turned around to see that her baby had her left leg caught in the slats. Baby has very chunky legs .so this incident caused her to bruise her knee very badly. Caller would like the crib recalled also for the slats. It is already recalled for mattess support and drop side.
