Seen by a doctor or nurse Made Aug 28, 2019, sent to the company Sep 6, 2019, published by CPSC Sep 27, 2019
The product, in the report: Sorelle Berkley 4-in-1 crib and changer combo. It is a non-drop-side, non-convertible crib with a changing table attached to one side. There is a narrow horizontal opening in the shared “wall” of the crib and changer.
I have the Sorelle 4-in-1 Berkley crib and changer. I put my 19-month-old son down for his afternoon nap and he was talking to himself happily. Then suddenly, he started crying. At first, I waited a minute, because it isn’t unusual for him to protest going to sleep. But then he got more upset, and it became clear this was a “something is wrong” cry, so I went right in. I found him with his arm wedged into the opening in the side of the crib that shares a side with the changer. There is an opening there, a few inches from the top, that is smaller than the openings between the crib slats. I have no idea why this opening is there, it has zero function. Regardless, his arm was stuck, and stuck good. He was screaming, because it hurt. With some careful maneuvering, I was able to get his arm back out, but it was red all over from where he had been trying to free it, and after an hour or so, bright red/purple bruises bloomed around the whole circumference. It’s terrifying to think what would have happened if this occurred in the dead of night when we were all fast asleep. He could have been hurt much worse. The company did not respond to my email and when I called, they did not care. There is no “fix” for covering the empty space, I covered it with cardboard and secured it with duct tape from the change side (so when he touches it, it just seems like part of the crib wall). This product is so unsafe and there is no recourse because Babies ‘r’ Us is gone and the company doesn’t care.

Hurt, no treatment Made Jul 24, 2019, sent to the company Aug 1, 2019, published by CPSC Aug 15, 2019
The product, in the report: Berkley crib and changer. Gray crib with changing table attached. Space in between the crib and changing table.
I have the Berkley crib and changer for my ten month old son. On July 21st, i put him to bed when all of a sudden he started screaming, crying in pain. I jumped to him to find his arm was stuck in a space between the crib and the changing table. To get his arm out, I had to hold up his bum so he didn’t rip his arm out of socket, while at the same time I had to really, in a way force his arm out because it was stuck so tight. This crib has an open spot between the crib and changer. The next morning I called the company (sorelle furniture) and before i could even explain where his arm got stuck the worker asked if he was okay (multiple times). It was clear they are aware of this safety concern. What really bothers me is the night this happened I researched for a recall or warning for this issue and found nothing. When I went to the company’s website, right on their homepage is the same exact crib with the opening between the two even though the employee told me they changed the cribs design because of this issue. My sons arm is bruised on both sides- his front of his arm more than the back but we are lucky it was not anything more serious. I really wish someone would raise awareness to prevent other babies from going through this painful and traumatic experience.

Seen by a doctor or nurse Made Feb 8, 2019, sent to the company Feb 19, 2019, published by CPSC Mar 6, 2019
The product, in the report: Sorelle Berkley crib and changer in grey
My 10 and a half month old son was in his crib. He has a Sorelle Berkley crib and changer combo. The middle panel between the crib and the changing table has a small spacing about an inch between the crib and the storage space under the changing table. My son stuck his arm into this space above his elbow and COULD NOT get it out!! He started screaming and crying frantically. The blood supply to his arm was completely cut off. I had to try for several minutes to ease it out, there was almost no way to get it out. My son has bruising all around his arm where he was stuck. I am a nurse, if he would have done this in the middle of the night or during nap time he could have FRACTURED his elbow in multiple places or the limb could have swollen to the point of it being completely stuck and it compromising circulation to his arm causing compartment syndrome, limb, compromise, nerve tissue damage or loss of function or limb, I am furious and want this invesigated.

The product, in the report: Sorelle Providence 4-in1 Convertible Crib
Our 21 month old daughter got her wrist and hand significantly stick in the back panel of the Sorelle Providence 4-in-1 Convertible Crib. The back panel is solid but with two openings on either side. The back of this panel is off-set from the rear verticals support rails from the crib. This design creates a gap between the back of the crib and the wall that a child can reach behind. Our daughter did this and then twisted her hand and arm into a position where it could not be removed. We have a video monitor and saw that she was in a strange position and didn’t seem to be able to move so we immediately went into her room. She was crying and saying “stuck stuck”. She couldn’t remove her arm on her own and it even took my husband some time and the use of dish soap to remove her arm safely. If she had been left like that for longer (if it had happened in the middle of the night while we were asleep) she may have broken her arm in attempts to remove it herself. Thankfully, pending results from X-rays and a doctor visit, it appears she may only have a serious bruise or a minor sprain. The reign is very unsafe for small arms and legs.

My 15 month old son’s leg got caught in between the slats of the Princeton 4 in One crib. I almost thought I was going to have to saw the crib apart to get him free. If he had fallen back I believe his leg could have broken. His knee quite bruised and swollen and if the swelling doesn’t go down I will be taking him to see a medical professional. I am now scared to put him back in the crib. I wish I had a video of the incident it was terrifying.

The product, in the report: crib
We were taking apart one section of the crib (per manufacturer instructions) so that it could be converted to a toddler bed. As soon as the section came off and some slight pressure was place on the other sides of the crib (stretched slightly in order to accommodate wooden dowels sticking out of the new bar being put in), a screw with a metal anchor still screwed on popped out of the hole in the wood that it was screwed into. As we took apart the rest of the crib (since we no longer intended to use it), this happened at several locations. The anchors simply popped out of their holes, rendering the screws useless.

The product, in the report: Sorelle Princeton 4-in-1 Convertible Crib and Changer
This is a beautiful, sturdy bed, but from day one I had a problem with the little bar at the end of the changing table, our little one (we foster and got her at 11 months) kept getting her little foot under the bar (why in the world would you allow such a large gap at the end of a table where a child’s feet is), I placed a rolled up blanket there for awhile, but she kept pulling it out ~ well, it finally happened, I didn’t realize her LEG had gotten under the bar when I lifted her out, it immediately was bruised and required a trip to Urgent Care - fortunately everything is ok, but we have removed that bar, the gap between the bar and the changing pad was large enough for my husband to stick his arm in. I can send pictures if you would like. This bed should be recalled due to the large space on the changing table. After this happened, I read other reviews from people stating the same thing, that their child’s’, leg, foot and/or ankle had gotten caught under that bar.
