The product, in the report: Baby crib. Simplicity Ellis 4-in-1 crib. Model 8676C manufacturer code 4707 TC.

I purchased the Simplicity 4-in-1 Ellis crib, Model # 8676C, manufacturer code 4707 TC, back in 2008. I have used it for all three of my children, still using for my youngest, and just found out it had been recalled in 2010. I never received any information or saw any information posted anywhere for the recall and only found out about it after searching the web for a place to file a complaint. Three days ago my youngest (14 months) had his leg stuck between the slats of the crib and it took my husband and I almost breaking one of the slats to get him free. I am at a loss on what to do about the situation since the company is out of business and the recall took place two years ago. Can I still return the product to the place of purchase for a replacement or refund without a receipt and it being so long since the recall? Any information would greatly helpful and appreciated.

The product, in the report: Simplicity for Children (AKA Simplicity Inc.) Providence 4-in-1 Convertable Crib, Model#8621PRC Manufacturer’s Code 0508DH

I purchased two Simplicity for Children Providence 4-1 cribs, and initally the were fin with the exception of the paint exposed on the railing and my twin nawing it off (the wood on the railing should have had a plastic guard) which caused me great concern. Once it was converted to a tolddler bed it became a hazard. the Toddler safety rails reqiure the bottom to be screwed into the metal matteress support. The screws will not stay in no matter how much they are tightened on either bed. One of my twins almost choked on one of the screws, luckily I was in the room and was able to get the screw from her mouth. They ended up breaking the rails because they would not stay screwed in. On one of the cribs the rear side rail ended up cracking with a small amount of preasure administered by my 3 year old because without the safety rail screwed in for support the side rails sway easily and cause stain on the Rearside rail. I tried to contact them as I am sure a recall is neccesary as both beds have the sam problem and I am sure other must as well as the metal screws will not secure in the metal rail with out something to hold them there, however the phone number is disconnected, I have been able to find another number online that was also disconnected and there is no website.

The product, in the report: White 4-1 baby crib that converts to youth bed, day bed and full size bed.

We purchased a crib from a consignment shop that I learned, upon returning home, had been recalled. It is the Simplicity Ellis Crib, recalled for the structurally poor metal tubular mattress support railings. The store owner wanted to argue that the crib was not included in the recall. We showed her the information on the cpsc.gov website regarding the crib, but she still denied that the crib was included in the recall. While she reluctantly refunded our money, her major concern was that she would lose money on this item. I am concerned that this crib may be resold to another uninformed consumer, as we never removed the crib from the store and returned it; we paid for it were going to return to pick it up. Instead we returned seeking our money back. The owner made the comment that she did not have many cribs coming in due to the ‘many crib recalls’ as of late. The fact that a brand new mattress was included, though this is usually never done, per the salesperson, was also alarming b/c the rails were hidden from view. I happened to lift the mattress out while examining the crib. I would hope that something can be done to insure that this place of business not sell recalled items to parents for children.

The product, in the report: Simplicity Drop side crib that came from “Nursery in a Box” purchased around 6/2006

I own a simplicity drop side crib that apparently was recalled. I did not know this at the time. It came from a “nursery in a box” set that included a changing table and dresser. The drop side plastic piece broke off and now the drop side will no longer stay up or be held up. This happened when my child first woke up and stood up (most likely pulling herself up on the bar of the drop side). I heard her say, “Uh Oh” and when I got to her room, the left side of the drop side had completely detached from the side of the crib.

From that date on, we moved my child to a toddler bed (at 1 year old) and have not used the crib. We assumed it was just expected to happen since she was the second child to use the crib. Now I am pregnant again and researching what I can do to fix it. I thought maybe I could order a new plastic part to replace the broken piece. It sounds like I need to return it for a refund?

The product, in the report: I have described product on first page of this report.

I have just been given a Simplicity baby crib with changing table that attaches to the crib. One side of the crib has a broken plastic notch that slides up and down on the side of the crib. Upon researching this crib it has been recalled and no replacement parts are available. This crib # is vendor #8994W Date made 2204 CW. Am I out of luck on a fix for this crib, or even getting a new crib? Thank you, please response quickly. Needing a crib for my newborn granddaughter. [REDACTED]
