The product, in the report: Renew Standard Crib By Rockland in the coffee color from JcPenney.

On 8/22/09 I purchased a Renew Standard Crib By Rockland in the coffee color from JcPenney. My son had been using the crib for 22 months at the time of the incident and was 24 months old. Back on June, 3rd 2011, when I went to get him out of the crib after his nap I noticed that the metal frame holding up the crib mattress had broke in 5 different places and part of the mattress was falling through the frame. My son could have easily cut his leg on the sharp broken metal support wires or gotten his leg caught. He was only 26 pounds at the time and I would never expect the mattress support frame to break under such little weight. Here is all the info on the crib itself: Model# 343-8191-0018, Serial# 0902760, and the date of manufacter is May 2009. We have not used the crib since the incident occured, but we still have it in our presence. I contacted JcPenney right away, but all they said was for me to return the crib to them for an exchange or credit. I have not done so yet, since it is a big hassel for me to pack up the entire crib in my car in order to return it to the store and I wanted to submit this report first.
