The product, in the report: Munire Urban Safeside crib (white) model #U301

I put my 15 month old son in his Munire Urban Safeside crib for a nap. I was watching him on the video monitor a few minutes later. It appeared that he was moving one of the crib slats as if it had snapped. I went into his room to check and the slat had completing snapped in two exposing sharp wood pieces within my child’s reach.

The product, in the report: Munire Essex Lifetime Crib; Munire model #: 7100.

Our 25 month old daughter had just woken up from her nap in a Munire Essex Lifetime Crib, as we were heading up the stairs to get her from the crib, we heard sudden and intense crying. We found her in her crib inconsolably crying and holding up her left leg. She had light scuff marks on her left foot, and she was found to have a fractured tibia at the emergency room. The attending ER physician and orthopedic trauma surgeon concurred that the fracture likely occurred through twisting force experienced when her foot became caught between the slats on one of the crib sides.

The product, in the report: Bristol Crib by Munire Furniture Model # 2200 White PO# 0001483 Production Date: October 26, 2010

On Tuesday evening April 8, 2014 I was in my daughters room putting away laundry and my three year old daughter was sitting on the bed and my six year old son was sitting on the floor playing at the foot of the bed. There were two other adults with me in the room looking at some clothing. As we were talking I heard a very loud noise, and turned around to see that the bed had collapses pinning my son between the footboard and another piece of furniture and my daughter had fallen off of the bed and hurt her arm. Upon closer inspection, the screws from the rails had completely stripped from the fooboard and caused it to fall forward. Thankfully the fooboard hit the other piece of furniture instead of landing on my son causing him to be seriously injured. My daughters arm was very red and she complained about her elbow, but thankfully it was just a bruise. The furniture was from the Munire Bristol Collection that I purchased in the spring of 2011.

The product, in the report: Munire Urban 4 in 1 crib

My 2 year old was taking a nap I’m his Munire Urban crib. He moved his right foot while he was trying to fall asleep his right foot got lodged in the last slot and became stuck. My son was unable to get his foot back out due to the way the last slat is designed( gets tighter as it goes down). My son was scream and I had to Manuela lift his foot to free it.

This has now happened 2 more times. I do not feel this is a safe crib and I will be purchasing him a bed ASAP. I have read online of this issue happening with other children in which some children broke bones. Please look into this.

    Thank you

The product, in the report: Munire Madison Conversion Crib Kit Espresso

My almost three-year-old child was sleeping in the Munire Madison Bed, which had been converted from a crib to a full size bed over six months ago. The conversion kit side rail split from end to end, shattered and the bed collapsed. There is clearly something wrong with the wood. My child did not suffer any injuries, but other children may be injured if this is not addressed.

The product, in the report: Munire Urban Lifetime Crib

I purchased a Munire Lifetime 4 in 1 Crib in June 2009 along with the Munire Guard Rail for the toddler bed conversion. This weekend I tried to install the guard rail on the bed, but the 4 nuts that are used to install the guard rail are too large to fit into the openings of the crib sideboards. When I contacted Munire about this, they responded with the following:

“Unfortunately, there are no smaller nuts to fit in those holes. Some of the holes on the actual crib sides were under drilled and the only solution is to have them drilled open a little bit. You can get assistance from the store you purchased from if needed. Sorry for the problem and thank you for purchasing Munire Furniture.”

I moved from New York to California and cannot get help from the store where I purchased them. What’s more, I cannot drill holes on my own into the sideboards without potentially jeopardizing the stability of the guard rail or the sideboards themselves. If the holes are drilled even slightly too large, it is possible that the side rail won’t remain attached and it will become a safety hazard for my daughter.

The product, in the report: Munire Lifetime convertible crib.

I was in the process of disassembling my daughter’s Munire crib to convert it to a full-size bed when I noticed that at least three of the four bolts holding the metal frame to the wooden parts were in the process of failing. I believe these bolts came with a retrofit kit obtained under a previous product recall.

If these bolts were used for a longer period of time or by a more rambunctious kid, they would have likely failed.
