No one hurt Made Feb 18, 2015, sent to the company Mar 30, 2015, published by CPSC Apr 13, 2015
The product, in the report: Crib mattress support Explanation: Would like the bottom remade or just a full refund since the caller now doesn’t trust any part of the crib. Especially since the caller bought it in 2012...and it was made in 2008 before new regulations were enforced.
[REDACTED] purchased her child’s Baby Furniture fixed side crib model# 607 during the Autumn of 2012 but has just today realized that it was manufactured in May/2008. She noticed right away that the flower design front facing on crib was off center by a foot from the time of receipt, Eden Baby sent replacement. This was a cosmetic flaw, not a safety flaw.
The caller noticed around February 16th, 3015 that the crib was developing a strange squeaking noise then on February 18th, 2015 the mattress support broke with her two year old daughter in the crib.
The caller realized that the mattress support had broke when her father went to see the baby and advised the caller that the middle was sloping, then checked the 1 1/2 inch wide wooden support slats.
They immediately removed the child from the crib.
She said the mattress support slats are approximately 1/4” thick and don’t appear strong when she really looks at them.
She said that the crib slats don’t appear to be tight either. Some wiggle.
There are no injuries to be reported
The caller has tried to contact the manufacturer, has received no response but will try again later.
Finally came in contact later that day and they claim their only worker is injured in the hospital & that there is nothing they can do.
