The product, in the report: Pottery barn Catalina fixed gate 3 in 1 CRIB
Re: CHOKING Hazard - my daughter chews splintered chunks of wood off of side rails of crib, easily and fast. No teething guard on side rails only front rail. I have a MAJOR CHILD SAFETY issue. I purchased the Pottery Barn Catalina Fixed Gate 3 in 1 crib in November 2011 before the birth of my daughter. She is now 1 yr and is CHEWING THE WOOD OFF IN CHUNKS from the sides of the crib. The front rail has a teething guard and it works wonderfully. The side rails do not and she has EASILY chewed through the wood, so much so that SPLINTERED CHUNKS have come out of it. This takes only minutes to do. I would like to send you pictures. It’s VERY concerning to me. I am HIGHLY CONCERNED this is a CHOKING hazard. I have tied 3 baby blankets around each side rail in the meantime. This is DANGEROUS for any child. My child receives excellent supervision and I am hyper attentive about removing her from crib when she wakes. It takes her very little time to chew the wood into splinters. These cribs need side rail teething guards in addition to the existing front rail. My daughter has not choked yet. She has had at least 5 occasions where she has chewed the paint off and her face is covered in paint flecks. This is concerning as well, much less of a degree than the wood possibly choking her or causing internal injury.
