The product, in the report: Crib, Carter’s Sleep Haven 4-1 Crib, Model 1101TR

We bought the Carter’s Sleep Haven 4-1 Crib, Model number 1101TR from Babies R Us in March 2010 for our 7 month old son. He has been using it as a toddler bed since he was 19 months old. About a month ago, I was sitting on the floor of his nursery and noticed that the rails that support the mattress were bowing in the center. After we removed the mattress, we noticed that the rails were bowing on the opposite side in the same location. My son is 2.5 years old and not excessively heavy (about 35 pounds). He does not jump in his crib. He uses the crib for sleeping only and I can’t understand why his crib would have bowed like this. I do believe that the structural integrity of the crib was affected because the mattress was not on the rails in the middle. I am very concerned about this problem because had I not noticed it, I’m worried that something tragic may have happened to my son. He has not used the crib any since the night of discovery.
