The product, in the report: Crib espresso color
I bought a crib from babies r us. Nursery basics Classic crib Model no 284559( babiesrus brand, Lajobi Inc) After 2 days I noticed a splinter on my baby’s foot. I ran my hand down and up the slats of the crib and got a splinter myself. I took out the splinters from the baby and me and have them saved. We had a pediatrician visit and the baby is thankfully ok. I I put a breathable mesh liner around the slats so that the baby does not get his limbs in between the slats. I am extremely shocked at the poor quality and finish of this product.I shudder to think that it could have been a very different outcome had I not noticed the splinter. I would have expected a safe product from babies r us. This crib is unusable because the mesh won’t protect the baby for long, as soon as he starts moving more this will happen again. I discussed the issue with babies r us, they have refunded the crib amount after a long discussion and time. I am discarding this crib, after all the time , money and effort put into it. They want me to just discard it but I plan to return it to their store. They have contacted the manufacturer and guess who called me from their side, a lawyer. They are more concerned about lawsuits. I am not the litigation type. This is a basic safety feature of cribs and this manufacturer should be reprimanded and fined and hopefully they will make better safe cribs.
