The product, in the report: Nook pebble mattress. Purchased in March 2021. Described as breathable, organic, natural, non-toxic, no flame retardants. Previously bought it from their direct online store, now it appears to be sold through third parties [REDACTED]
I purchased a Nook Pebble Mattress in early 2021 for my daughter, which she used from about 3 months old to now. It was supposed to be a top of the line, breathable mattress and cost >$400. I recently learned that they are being sued and have potentially gone bankrupt (their store presence has disappeared and now only sell through third parties). It appears as though their products, though touted as non-toxic, are completely laden with PFAS contaminants (very high values; 10x that of problematic period underwear). I am very concerned for my child’s safety and future clinical outcomes, given this extremely high exposure. I was never notified of this discovery of PFAS contamination and am unaware of a recall or class action lawsuit. The lawsuit is accessible online. Summary here: [REDACTED]
