Hurt, care not known Made May 15, 2012, sent to the company Jun 22, 2012, published by CPSC Jul 16, 2012
The product, in the report: Baby Crib Mattress
The consumer says that the seam started to come out. A string was hanging on his mattress. She changed the sheets one day. Later that morning her child was screaming. She tried to pick him up but noticed that a string was wrapped around his neck.
The consumer says the string is from the thread of the mattress. She says her husband had to cut the string with a pair of scissors. The baby was not injured but has a red mark on his neck. The consumer tried to contact the manufacturer yesterday and left a message.

No one hurt Made Dec 7, 2011, sent to the company Jan 30, 2012, published by CPSC Feb 13, 2012
The product, in the report: Natura organic crib bumper. 10’’. Natural white color, quilted. Filled with organic wool.
I purchased a 10’’ natural & organic crib bumper from Natura in 2009. I used it with my daughter, who was born in 2009, for just a few weeks. She didn’t like having a bumper (she liked looking out of her crib) so I removed the bumper after just a few weeks of use.
In 2011 I had twins, and I used the crib bumper in my son’s crib. His crib is a standard crib from [REDACTED] that we bought in 2011. The Natura crib bumper did not have enough ties placed in the right places for me to anchor it safely in each corner. As a result, I found my son after a nap one afternoon with his head caught up under the un-anchored corner of the crib bumper. I immediately removed the crib bumper.
I contacted Natura to inform them and ask them for a refund. They told me that since I did not purchase the bumper directly from them (I bought it from a website called Pure Rest), they could not issue a refund. They also told me it was the first time they had heard of this incident.
Before the scary incident with my son happened, I had tried to purchase a matching crib bumper online. However, even though websites such as Amazon.com list this 10’’ crib bumper, when I ordered the bumper I was sent a similar, but different, 6’’ bumper that came in 4 pieces (not 2, like my 10’’ one from 2009). This 6’’ bumper did seem to have more ties, and by having separate sections it is possible that it fits cribs better.
The problem I am reporting is specifically for the 10’’ crib bumper that was sold in 2009. It’s got only two pieces, and not enough ties to be safe in a standard crib. I am thankful my son did not strangle or suffocate.
I have since learned that crib bumpers are generally unsafe and I am no longer using them in any form.
Thank you.
