How badly anyone was hurt

  • No one hurt 1 CPSC: Incident, No Injury

As each report says it, in short words; CPSC’s own words are under each.

The reports, as CPSC published them

Reports people made to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission. CPSC publishes each one after sending it to the company named, and doesn’t guarantee they’re accurate. A report isn’t a recall.

Each report is the words of the person who made it, as CPSC published them. The company’s comments, where CPSC published any, are set apart as the company’s own.

  1. No one hurt

The product, in the report: Children’s foam play mat. Sold here: https://www.little-nomad.com/

I purchased a baby / children’s foam play mat from Little Nomad (https://www.little-nomad.com/). The mat is constructed of foam interlocking pieces, with a decorative top layer adhered on. Within weeks of receiving my mat, the decorative top layer began to peel off. My 9 month old daughter was able to tear a piece of it off and almost ate it (fortunately, I was there to stop her) - she could have choked. I contacted the company 1 month ago about this, and was able to receive a refund after much back and forth.

EIGHT other moms in my local mom group have this same mat, and it peeled for every single one of them. Five of them have received replacements from Little Nomad, and all of the replacements have peeled as well.

I posted photos of my peeling mat to Little Nomad’s [REDACTED] page, and the company promptly deleted the photos and blocked my ability to post to their [REDACTED] page. There are no negative reviews anywhere on the Internet about this product. I believe the company is well aware that it is selling a dangerous (and poor quality) product, and is simply squashing the negative reviews. The mats are often sold out on the Little Nomad webpage, so I believe they are continuing to sell these very dangerous products at a rapid pace.
