We purchased the Infantino foldable soft foam mat from Target on two occasions. Both times the plastic film that lines the mat start to bubble and separate and my 11 month old was able to rip away a piece of the plastic and choke on it, while he was contained within a play pen. The reviews for this product on Target’s website include roughly 40 other reviews of parents saying the same thing. After our first purchase we chalked it up to the mat getting roughed up by our nieces and nephews treading on it, and although it still seems like a product flaw, we purchased a second one because it fit perfectly as a liner for our play pen. This second one was only used within this play pen by our young child but still experienced the same issue. Bubbles had formed before we even realized and our child picked at one and tore away a piece of plastic film that was several inches long and tried to ingest it, which luckily only caused profuse vomiting before it had a chance to clog his airways.
