The reports, as CPSC published them

Reports people made to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission. CPSC publishes each one after sending it to the company named, and doesn’t guarantee they’re accurate. A report isn’t a recall.

Each report is the words of the person who made it, as CPSC published them. The company’s comments, where CPSC published any, are set apart as the company’s own.

  1. No one hurt

Made Nov 30, 2025, sent to the company Dec 3, 2025, published by CPSC Dec 17, 2025

The product, in the report: SNOO

3 month old nearly suffocated from Snoo strap moving to around his neck after sliding forward in bassinet. The leg risers were installed due to instructions stating to use if baby is prone to spit up.

I woke up to the sound of my baby struggling and kicking. Thankfully I woke up and checked on him. Because he had slid down and the swaddle is designed to stay in place, the swaddle straps had moved over his neck. He was still breathing and conscious but unknown if he would have been had I not gotten up to check on him as soon as I heard him struggle.

We had not had any issues before this with the SNOO and had been using since birth.

My baby was NOT mobile at this time and NOT able to roll over. We have since stopped using this product and warned others who have it of this situation.

The product, in the report: SNOO bed made by Happiest Baby

I saw an infant in a SNOO bed shaken vigorously when incorrectly place on its side in a SNOO bed. The child was not injured , but it was clear that it was unsafe to use with the infant in that position. Her head was being whipped forward and backward with the movement of the bed. This was in a hospital NICU, the child was a term infant. Presumably the infant was positioned by the nurse caring for them. I showed the neonatologist , who happened to be steps away, removed the child and unplugged the bed. I also alerted the Clinical nurse specialist. The manufacturer states that the child should be placed on their back in the special harness, however it is possible to incorrectly place the child on its side in the harness and still get the bed to work. There is no WARNING that the child is at risk for serious harm if the instructions are not followed.

Made Dec 4, 2022, sent to the company Dec 8, 2022, published by CPSC Dec 30, 2022

The product, in the report: The product is the Snoo Sleepsack

I have used the Snoo bassinet with 2 babies now. I had no concerns with the first baby, who used the Snoo for 6 months. With the second baby (ie. different sleep patterns and temperament) I noticed that she would try so hard to free her arms from the swaddle strap that it rose up to her neck. This happened multiple times that we (parents) have found our baby with the straps (under the zipper) up all the way to our baby’s neck in a dangerous position. I looked on CPSC website and see that the same concern was reported by someone in 2021. I also just ordered a new swaddle for the Snoo and see that the company has added a velcro strap through the diaper area. I think this is a nice safety update. However, I am writing because I think a thorough and thoughtful investigation should be made into this issue AND that a voluntary recall and replacement should be commenced by the manufacturer BEFORE an infant strangulation occurs with the original Snoo sleep sack.

The product, in the report: Snoo Bassinet, white with wood paneling. SNOO Assembled: Dimensions: 35.75” L × 19” W × 31” H (with legs); Weight: 38 lbs Model S1000 UPC 817720020085

My son was sleeping in a Snoo bassinet, which rocks a baby to sleep, and rocks more aggressively the more the baby wiggles. It requires the baby to be [REDACTED] into a harness which is zipped up and strapped into the bassinet. During the night he broke through both the [REDACTED] and the zipper, the latch of which was then stuck around his neck, while the harness was still strapped in and the snoo still rocking. It appeared to slowly be choking him. The only reason I noticed it is the [REDACTED] sock he was wearing showed what appeared to be irregular heartrate patterns.

The product, in the report: SNOO Infant Sleeper

I used the SNOO Infant Sleeper made by [REDACTED]/Happiest Baby On The Block for my infant from 2 months of age until 6 months of age. The SNOO is supposed to help infants sleep better by keeping them swaddled and strapped in place while also providing white noise and a variable rocking motion. Due to the swaddle and straps which hold the baby in place, my infant did not have opportunity during the night to move around as an infant would normally in a regular crib. He now has some large motor delays. He has been assessed by a pediatrician and referred to physical therapy.
