The product, in the report: Ingenuity Dream & Grow Bedside Bassinet and Sleeper

I purchased the Ingenuity Dream and Grow bassinet for my newborn. On more than one occasion I noticed he was rolled onto his side and up against the side of the bassinet. We put a level on the sleeping surface and found that it is 2” out of level, which explains why he was rolling into the side. We immediately discontinued use and found that this is a common problem with this bassinet.

Purchased “ Ingenuity Dream & Grow Bedside Baby Bassinet Adjustable Height Crib”, from Walmart. Began using the product with our newborn, soon after discontinued use due to a tilting base that caused baby to roll her face into the side. Contacted the company and they scheduled [REDACTED] to pick up the package and provide us 10 days after their receival with a return. Once they received the package, proved by tracking number, they never provided the promised refund. Evidence of the faulty and dangerous product was exchanged, through photos during multiple email communications. Which was swift. Swift email communication halted once they received the bassinet. No refund for dangerous product.

The product, in the report: Ingenuity Dream & Grow Bedside Bassinet

We use the Ingenuity Dream & Grow Bedside Bassinet. The product was put together exactly as instructed in the manual. I’ve noticed on 3 separate occasions that my infant son rolls and is face planted on one side of the bassinet. Upon further inspection of the mattress it’s clear that it’s slanted, which means if I wasn’t there to correct it he wouldn’t have been able to move his head to breathe. My son is ok, we will stop using the bassinet, but this isn’t a safe product. He lacks the ability to naturally roll in the position I’ve found him in.

The product, in the report: Bassinet/bed side sleeper with an extendable bottom and mesh sides. Top of bassinet has a grey and white circle/diamond pattern.

4 month old child is placed in a swaddle on his back in the Ingenuity Dream & Grow Bassinet on August 31, 2019 around 10am. Blankets are present underneath the child and on top of the child. Around 2:30pm, mother finds child out of the swaddle, on his stomach in the bassinet not breathing. Child was transported to the hospital where he was pronounced deceased.

Bassinet appears to be well used and that the bottom may be concaved.

The product, in the report: Ingenuity Dream and Grow Bedside Bassinet- Dalton

This product was used as a bedside sleeper. My 3 day old infant was swaddled inside and as he wiggled as babies do, he rolled to the side of the sleeper with his face against the side of the sleeper. I believe the bassinet’s mattress is not properly reinforced so the bottom stays flat and still. My infant’s small motions caused the mattress to tilt and move side to side causing the baby to move/roll to the side. The sleeper was placed at the higher setting.

The product, in the report: Ingenuity Dream & Grow Bassinet - Dalton A bassinet on wheels that can be raised and lowered to a playard.

I purchased the “Ingenuity Dream & Grow Bassinet - Dalton” bassinet from Target: https://www.target.com/p/ingenuity-dream-38-grow-bassinet-dalton/-/A-76500286

I set this product up according to the instructions. I placed my baby in it according to directions, she was only 2 weeks old at the time. I woke up a few hours later to her face-down in the side corner of the bassinet. She does not have the ability to roll yet (she’s still way too young AND a preemie!), so it’s not possible that she rolled there on her own. I believe the bassinet bottom titled and she shifted her weight and that caused her to roll to the side, with her face shoved into the corner. I believe we’re lucky that she didn’t suffocate.

The product, in the report: Dalton colored infant Bassinet with an upper mattress position and an lower mattress position for use with babies “up to 12months”

Suffocation Hazard design creates unsafe sleeping for infants.I thought this would be great for my newborn but a defect that causes my baby to roll onto her side and slide to the side of the crib. I check on her constantly finding her face pressed into the side of bassinet where the mesh is not. Not safe at all. Maker of the bassinet hasn’t been the easiest to deal with. The reviews I’m finding online confirmed my disappointment this is an unsafe product and needs recalled to be redesigned immediately before some child ends up suffocating to death.

The product, in the report: Ingenuity Dream and Grow bassinet.

I purchased an Ingenuity Dream and Grow bassinet today and placed my two month old in it for the first time this evening. Within an hour, he had basically slid over to one side and his face was pressed up against the side. There is only a support bar on one side and basically causes the mattress to slant. I believe this product has a major design flaw that needs to be addressed immediately. The middle of the mattress also appears to dip, which may also contribute to the rolling/ sliding issue.

The product, in the report: Ingenuity Moonlight Rocker Sleeper This is a hammock-type fabric seat that hangs from a rocking frame.

I did not have a specific incident or injury. This is a possible safety hazard that I’ve noticed.

I purchased an Ingenuity Moonlight Rocking Sleeper for my youngest daughter. The sleeper is advertised as being both an entertainer-seat and a safe bed, useable starting at birth.

My daughter was four days old when we first used the sleeper. When I placed her in the sleeper, I noticed that there was very little support for her back, head, and neck. The sleeper lacks any kind of firm support to keep the baby in a safe, semi-reclined position.

My daughter curled into herself, with her chin settled firmly into her chest. No matter how I adjusted her in the seat, I could not get her chin off of her chest- not even the finger’s width that babies this age require to breathe easily. Infants this young can asphyxiate in this position (as has been seen in some baby carriers).

I have four children, and this child has been my largest baby. She was nine pounds at birth and was still nearly that weight when we tried to use the sleeper. I’m not sure if her weight has something to with me not being able to position her correctly.

I’m concerned that this product presents an asphyxiation hazard, and therefore, is not safe for newborns OR possibly not safe for “unusually large” newborns.

I submitted a review of the product on Ingenuity’s website and expressed my concerns in it. In response, the company sent me an e-mail explaining that they will not publish the review unless I remove the safety concern from it and suggested that I contact their legal team.
