The product, in the report: Halo BassiNest Swivel Sleeper 3.0 in color Warm Grey; BassiNest: 33 x 32 x 45; Adjustable height from 23.5 to 30; marketed as safe for baby sleep
We have the Halo BassiNest Swivel Sleeper 3.0 and the sleeping surface is titled. Our infant used the product to nap in and also to sleep overnight for about 4-5 months from April 2024-July/August 2024. We contacted Halo at the time to raise our concern about the slope of the sleeping surface and they said that a certain amount of slope was allowed and didn’t help us at all.

The Halo Swivel causes my newborn daughter to move/roll around which results in her face smashed against the sides and her body curled backwards. This happens almost every time she sleeps in this bassinet.

Product: HALO BassiNest Swivel Sleeper 3.0 Over-Bed Baby Bassinet with 360 Rotation, Adjustable Height, Breathable Mesh
I received the Halo swivel bassinet as a baby shower gift, I put this item on my registration. He was a bigger baby, over 9 lbs. I kept waking up to him laying/dangling face first in the mesh part of this bassinet. The swivel feature is NOT structured and not designed to hold up my infant. He was heavy and strong enough to wiggle to the side and become completely entrapped in the mesh part of the bassinet; this is because the “over the bed” side is NOT structured enough to stay upright for bigger babies. Not only was he entrapped in the mesh lining, but the whole mattress would become tilted at an angle, therefore NOT flat and NOT safe sleep. This bassinet is dangerous, after a quick [REDACTED] search and [REDACTED], I see I’m not alone. Many people have experienced this. It’s a total SLAP in the face to attempt safe sleep, which is already hard enough, and spend lots of money on an item, that is simply not designed for safe sleep.

The product, in the report: Halo BASSINEST FLEX PORTABLE BASSINET Color: Heather Weave Dimensions: Fully assembled, the dimensions are: Base: 39.5x 28.5 Legs: 35.5” x 28.5” Overall Height: 42” Bed: 29” x 15.5” Weight: 15.2 lbs
Purchased Halo Innovation Flex Bassinet. Upon assembly noted there to be a suspected tilt in the mattressnon the side that is not directly supported by the legs. On several occasions I have woken up to find my 3 week old with his face pushed against the mesh on the side of the bassinet that is not supported by the legs or any structure supports. Infant is always placed in Bassinet on his back and placed in the middle of the Bassinet on all occurances prior to finding infant appeared to have rolled to the mesh. Please note infant is unable to roll unassisted at 3 weeks of age. This evening I awoke to find infant rolled to stomach with head against mesh. Infant is unable to roll unassisted to stomach at 3 weeks of age. Highly suspect this product has a manufacturer flaw due to the lack of structural support causing the mattress to tilt when weight is placed in the Bassinet. This is a huge risk of SIDS and I do not feel this product supports or complies with the defiend safe sleep practices outlined by the CDC or APA. Please note infant well within defined criteria of use for this product as outlined using their manual supplied with the product. At time of occurrence infant 3 weeks of age and less than 9 lbs.

The product, in the report: Halo bassinest flex https://www.halosleep.com/portable-travel-bassinet-bassinest-flex-4791
Baby bassinet is rigid on one side, but side further from the base has so much give that baby rolls every time they move. This is a huge suffocation risk. Baby was placed in center on his back. He rolled on his side and almost had his face against the side of the bassinet within 15 minutes. He is only days old, he cannot roll by himself.

The product, in the report: https://www.halosleep.com/halo-bassinest-glide-sleeper
I recently purchased and assembled a Halo BassiNest Glide Sleeper (https://www.halosleep.com/halo-bassinest-glide-sleeper). My daughter was born 3 days ago, and we came home from the hospital today. When I placed her in the bassinet, I noticed that she had a tendency to roll onto one side. This is highly unusual, as she is far too young to have acquired this developmental milestone. I took out a leveler and confirmed that the bassinet is tilted to one side, which causes the baby to roll onto one side when placed in it. This is highly concerning as infants rolling onto their side (and from there, to their stomachs) is a known risk factor for Sudden Infant Death Syndrome.

The product, in the report: HALO Innovations BassiNest Flex Sleeper
I received the Halo Innovations Bassinet Flex Sleeper as a registry gift. Upon using this item, I have realized it is slanted, creating an uneven sleep surface. My child is 7 weeks old was unable to lay flat in the bassinet because of this. Due to the slanted surface, she rolled to the edge of the bassinet and on her side- she is not able to roll over by herself. Per the CDC, sleep surfaces used for infants must be flat and infants must sleep on their back. I’m wondering what can be done to remedy this defective item as it is not a safe sleep surface.

While using the HALO Baby Flex BassiNest, it was never quite level and my baby always seemed to roll to one side. There were many times that I woke up to my baby’s face pressed against the mesh lining because he had ended up rolling to that side. This all happened prior to my baby being able to roll over, so I know it was due to the fact that the bassinet is not level.

The product, in the report: 2015 Halo Bassinest with the light blue damask pattern and electronic soothing station
In 2018, my infant rolled over while in the Halo Bassinest and injured his head on a raised screw on the back of the electronics. I was informed by the company that there were certain bassinets that were sold in 2015 that had raised screws, for which they had a fix for. They sent me a back to fix the issue. I have since borrowed a 2015 Halo bassinest from a friend and it has the same raised screw issue and Halo is refusing to send the fix, since it’s “out of warranty,” although they previously told me it was a product defect.

The product, in the report: Halo Bassinest Swivel Sleeper, Essential Series, Modern Lattice. 19 x 12 x 35 inches Made to swivel onto the parents bed in order to easily get child out.
My daughter was born and we put her in the halo swivel bassinest for naps and bed time. She was only a week old weighing 8 lbs and 4 oz. We noticed that she would wake up with her face smashed up against the side of the bassinest when we woke up. She was swaddled and again she’s a newborn so she doesn’t have a lot of strength. I begin to watch her throughout the night to see what happens and how she gets like that. We then realized that while she is asleep and she moves her arms it creates enough movement that she would go to the front/left side of the bassinest. We realized that next morning it was leaning to that side. I read the safety hazards and precautions and it says that children under 20 lbs and not rolling or pushing up on hands and feet can safely use the product. But in our case she can not because she scoots to the side it is leaning on.

No one hurt Made Feb 9, 2018, sent to the company Jul 6, 2018, published by CPSC Jul 20, 2018
The product, in the report: Halo Swivel Sleeper Bassinett with collapsible side
I am reporting the Halo Bassinett Swivel Sleeper. The bassinett after use develops a steep incline so that if a baby was placed in it in a specific position, it would be a choke hazard/ suffocation risk. The bassinett is designed to swivel 360 degrees around a center support system. The bassinett also features a collapsible side so that when parent is in bed, they can reach into the bassinett and remove baby. This collapsible side operates on a spring system which is a very tight spring. The problem I believe arises after continued use of the collapsible side which places uneven pressure on the bassinett, which base is not often centered, so that the pressure is more exaggerated on the bassinett that is not evenly supported underneath. This literally causes the support to bend thus making the bassinett unlevel. After the first few weeks of use, we notice this happening. It was not until my infant was sleeping one night and the incline was pointing downwards, towards his head, that I noticed him shifting drastically towards that side. I was very thankful that he did not spit up while his head was in the position because he could have easily choked. I’m also thankful I noticed him shifting before it became too drastic that his neck and chin became compromised and he could’ve suffocated. I reported this to the company who said “movement” is normal, it meets the allowable “incline” for sleep areas and that this bassinet is not meant to be “rigid”. I have to strongly disagree with all of these comments - there should be zero incline when abiding by the AAP’s recommendation for a firm, flat surface, and if your product is advertised as such then it should be. And if there is any product i expect to be ULTRA rigid, it would be my sleep area for my infant. The company also blamed my baby for moving around too much. I can assure you this is not the case as it began happening with him only a couple weeks old, and he is swaddled during every sleep so it is impossible for him to move within the bassinett. When the were not receptive to my complaints and I threatened to report them, they quickly dismissed me and retracted their offer to issue a replacement (in my opinion, because they knew the same issue would happen and it would further expose them). I demanded a replacement of a different style (a non swivel) which they refused and then promptly, without notice, issued me a refund check, presumabley to shut me up. Their response to my complaint leads me to believe they are aware of the issue and unwilling to address it therefore are guilty of gross negligence. I want to reiterate - you will not notice this issue with an out of the box bassinett. The defect of level ness comes after repeated use of the collapsible side, which places uneven pressure on the uncentered support, causing it to lean in either direction. I also found that this product was recalled in Canada and I’m curious of this is why.

Seen by a doctor or nurse Made Jan 8, 2016, sent to the company Jan 21, 2016, published by CPSC Feb 9, 2016
The product, in the report: Halo bassinest swivel sleeper. Netting bassinet supported by tall metal base. Sound soother box screwed into bassinet top in the front.
My daughter is 1 month old and 12 pounds and currently sleeping in the Halo Bassinest bassinet sleeper. She moves a lot during sleep and manages to turn horizontal in the bassinet when she is laid vertically along with the shape of the bassinet to sleep. She also pushes herself to one side quite often and last night, had her head against the back of the sound box that is screwed into the front of the bassinest. When I found her this way, I noted a scratch deep enough to have bleed minimally. I looked further and noticed that her face was against the back of a nail head on the back of the sound box and since the walls of the bassinest are all netting, there was no protection from this. I am now needing to go to the doctor and assess whether we should be worried about tetanus and other infection because of the would from the nailhead on the back of the sound box. As a consumer, I trusted that the product would be ok and no issues like this would occur. I feel that they should have a felt cover over the back of the box or something to prevent this from happening to other babies. When I called halo, who I had already been in contact with due to malfuctioning of the sound box, [REDACTED] said I was the first to ever say this and didn’t say anything else about it and ignored it.
