The reports, as CPSC published them

Reports people made to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission. CPSC publishes each one after sending it to the company named, and doesn’t guarantee they’re accurate. A report isn’t a recall.

Each report is the words of the person who made it, as CPSC published them. The company’s comments, where CPSC published any, are set apart as the company’s own.

The product, in the report: Dream on Me basinet with a liner, date of manufacturer 5/2020. Model : Hem #442-p. Serial/Order # M-20002029. Example of one- [REDACTED]

2 month old Baby placed in “Dream on Me bassinet model 2002029 with a liner.” Foster mom placed the infant to sleep on her back and when she found her, “she was on her left side a little bit but mostly on her stomach, with her face almost completely face down in the bassinet but facing up just a little.”

  2. No one hurt

Made May 19, 2018, sent to the company Jul 18, 2018, published by CPSC Aug 1, 2018

The product, in the report: Dream On Me Karley Bassinet, Blue/Grey. Dimensions: 35.5 inch x 18.3 inch x 47 inch. is This bassinet is made of a polyester foam fabric and features a double canopy and sleeping pad. It is designed for newborns up to 25 lbs.

I put my baby to sleep in a Dream On Me Karley Bassinet and a zipper head detached and fell into the bassinet next to my baby. I was not using the zipper at the time this happened and my baby is only a few days old so I have never even used the zipper. The Dream On Me Karley Bassinet has a canopy that can be zippered open or closed. At the time this happened, the canopy was open. This is a huge safety hazard to have such a small piece fall into a bassinet with a baby who could choke on the item. I am no longer using this bassinet because I am worried another zipper head or some other part of the bassinet will fall off. In my opinion this bassinet should be recalled. I will be contacting Dream On Me to file a complaint and attempt to return the bassinet to the store. This bassinet was given to me as a baby shower gift so I don’t know if a return is possible.

Made Dec 27, 2016, sent to the company Jan 9, 2017, published by CPSC Jan 25, 2017

The product, in the report: Dream On Me Layla 2 in 1 bassinet

On two occasions within the same week, the Dream On Me Layla 2 in 1 bassinet collapsed with my 2 week old child inside of it. The brackets that keep the arms holding the bassinet in place, broke off both times. The website says the weight limit is 18-20lbs, but the “warning” label on the bassinet cover says 10lbs; that is very misleading to begin with, because you don’t fully know what the limit is anyway. However, my child is only 6lbs, so there’s no way my child is the cause of it.

The product, in the report: Blue checkered pattern dream on me 2-1 baby bassinet.

I have a blue dream on me bassinet believe it’s product code is 440. I went to place my newborn son into bassinet andnit nearly collapsed with him in it. The metal frame will not keep their position to hold any weight including bassinet so it cannot sit in it properly.

The product, in the report: Dream on Me Karley Bassinet - in Grey/Blue

We had been using the Dream On Me Karley Bassinet in Grey/Blue (bought from WalMart.com) which is rated for use for children up to 25lbs. My son was just 12lbs at time of incident. The tubing in the cover came lose and got stuck on his face! We are very lucky it wasn’t IN HIS EYE! We promptly stopped using the product and bought a new bed for him to use.

The product, in the report: Rocking cradle

In late April, when my son was a newborn, shortly after I laid him to bed in his cradle, the floor board fell through on one end, and dropped him. He seemed okay but I was super shaken up and could not figure out why this happened. My husband looked at it and told me that my father must had assembled it incorrectly and said he fixed it. About one month later, the same thing happened again...the end where my little boy’s head was resting fell down dropping him down. He did not hit the floor, but fell against the “stand” of the cradle. He did not fall through the cradle, but had a hard jolt and fell about 4 inches or so. After that we were terrified to even use the cradle.

The product, in the report: Dream on Me Karley Pink bassinet. Mesh sides and double sided canopy that zips together.

Incident has not happened, but the safety hazards are more than obvious. The bassinet has a mattress that came with the product and it does not lay flat. it folds up and wrinkles up posing a suffocation hazard. Also the double canopy sinks inside of the sleeping area of the bassinet and can sink as far down as an inch away from the mattress which can potentially trap the infants body and could pose a suffocation hazard.
