The reports, as CPSC published them

Reports people made to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission. CPSC publishes each one after sending it to the company named, and doesn’t guarantee they’re accurate. A report isn’t a recall.

Each report is the words of the person who made it, as CPSC published them. The company’s comments, where CPSC published any, are set apart as the company’s own.

  1. No one hurt

Made Feb 21, 2018, sent to the company Mar 15, 2018, published by CPSC Mar 30, 2018

The product, in the report: Bassinet

The consumer’s 1 month old (6 lbs, 22” tall), baby had been in the bassinet for a couple hours during the night. The consumer heard a thud on the floor and found that her baby had fallen out of the bassinet and was face down on the floor. The consumer estimates that the distance of the fall may have been 18” or more.

The fabric that covers the top rail had come loose. This caused the side rail to be exposed and created a space large enough, between the bassinet bottom and top side rail, where her baby fell through.

The consumer’s checked her baby and she seems okay for the time being. She is not sure about any possible long term effects.

2/21/2018: The consumer sent the firm an email an email around 6:00am on 2/21/2018. She did not hear back from them within 3 hours, so she gave them a call (Tel: 800-236-1310), around 9:00am. She reported the problem to a rep. (name unknown). The consumer told the rep. that she checked this product reviews on Amazon.com and saw where 2 other parent’s babies fell from their bassinets and she believes that these bassinets need to be recalled. The rep. asked the consumer if the bassinet’s zippers were intact and fastened. The consumer said yes. The rep. asked the consumer to take photos and send them to their company. The consumer said she didn’t have a camera at this time.

The rep. told the consumer that she would inform the Plant Manager and she took her name and number.

The consumer has been using the bassinet every day and did not have any prior problems with it.

The consumer checked Amazon.com and saw that the following UPC number was associated with her product: 719918410435046605300633795569820885781264492595.

The product, in the report: Badger Basket Batiste 2-in-1 Convertible Bassinet with Toy Box Base

I received the Badger Basket Batiste 2-in-1 Convertible Bassinet with Toy Box Base as a shower gift. The bassinet falls off of the base when it is barely touched. There is nothing securing the bassinet to the base. The manager I spoke to at the Badger basket company stated that it snaps into place. I let him know that it does NOT. He would not refund my money, he would only replace the basinette. I let him know that I will not risk my daughters safety.
