The product, in the report: Babybliss-US Dreamnest inclined infant sleeper. Please note that information below is from the website, as this product lacks the required tag.

I am reporting an infant inclined sleeper which violates the Safe Sleep for Babies Act of 2021. The product is the BabyBliss-US Dreamnest. https://babybliss-us.com/ . From searching existing reports, it would appear that several individuals have already reported this same product for violating the above mentioned law due to the inclination of 15 degrees. In addition to this issue which has already been reported many times, this infant mattress does not have a label describing its material composition or flammability, violating 16 CFR Parts 1632 and 1633.

The product, in the report: As described and shown in pictures on the website, the product features a positioner with a single wide strap on a wedge-shaped surface inclined to 15 degrees. It is clearly being promoted for use during sleep which conflicts with the ISP Rule and Safe Sleep for Babies Act of 2021. Alarmingly, the company markets this unsafe sleep product as safe during sleep for babies 0-8 months old with statements such as “reduces SIDS risk,” “safe sleep for your baby every night,” “unmatched safety in every sleep,” and “our baby bed focuses on safety, adhering to pediatric guidelines to minimize the risk of SIDS.” They don’t provide a source for those pediatric guidelines, but they’re not the AAP safe sleep guidelines as those recommend placing baby on a firm, flat, noninclined surface for every sleep without additional objects in the crib such as the attached positioner. This product does not reduce the risk of SIDS, it increases it. The website claims the product has been “Rated 4.8/5 by 14.790+ Happy Parents” which suggests thousands of families are currently putting their baby to sleep in this dangerous product.

One of my family members recently asked for my opinion on using “DreamNest - The Ultimate Baby Bed” for their newborn (the website link she sent me is below). As a pediatric resident physician familiar with best practices for safe sleep, I was extremely concerned. I did not purchase this product and recommended that she not purchase it either, so this report is based on what I found on their website. https://babybliss-us.com/products/dreamnest-baby-bed?srsltid=AfmBOoqq05BIVk-Po5mnB3FqR6XYK33VsNYjSW1gREKAQgfbLa4ATyCm

The product, in the report: It is marketed as a sleeping product for infants called BabyBliss Dreamnest. It is an elevated bed with bumpers on the sides near the head and body.

I received an ad on [REDACTED] for a safe sleep product that is being marketed as safe by pediatricians. It is in fact extremely unsafe and goes against the AAP guidelines (I am a member and pediatrician). The company is called Babybliss and it is a serious SIDS risk.

The product, in the report: Inclined sleeper with 15 degree incline and Belly strap so infant cant roll. Marketed to reduce SIDS

    https://babybliss-us.com/

Im a new mom and I keep seeing [REDACTED] ads for the babybliss inclined sleeper. I have not purchased it but from my understanding, its has a 15 degree incline which violate the 2021 law forbidding its manufacture and sale within the US. The company is heavily advertising it as a safe sleep and SIDS reducing product. I had to dig around a lot in their website but finally found in their Q&A section that it is recommended for supervised sleep. Their advertisements seem to highly recommend it for overnight sleep though. And considering the ads are targeting new moms specifically through [REDACTED] algorithm, Im very concerned with the amount of new parents possibly purchasing this product.
