Each report is the words of the person who made it, as CPSC published them. The company’s comments, where CPSC published any, are set apart as the company’s own.

The product, in the report: From Company Website: NextStep® Built-in Potty Seat™, Whisper•Close® with Easy•Clean & Change® Hinges and STA-TITE® This seat accommodates both adult and child users equally. The Built-in Potty Seat™ secures magnetically to the cover when not in use.
On SaferProducts.gov I found two similar reports, the company’s response to both was that the seat was redesigned in 2012. Our’s was purchased in 2016.
This is the exact message I sent to the manufacturer, Bemis, today.
This morning I heard my 3 YO asking “what’s this?” in the bathroom. I went in and saw him carefully inspecting the magnet from his toilet seat reducer. The cover that is supposed to hold the magnet to the little seat was cracked and he had found the magnet sitting on the toilet seat. I do not use harsh cleaners that could have affected the plastic, I have only ever used [REDACTED] brand cleaners in that bathroom. This is EXTREMELY dangerous. A small button style magnet in a child’s product is not a good idea. I think you need to let people know what is in the existing seats and do a redesign. The magnet used should not be something that can be swallowed or use a thin piece of metal on the seat reducer and embed the magnet in the cover.
