Subject: Urgent Safety Concern Regarding Munchkin Potty Training Seat

    Dear Munchkin,

I am writing to bring to your immediate attention a serious safety issue regarding the Munchkin Potty Training Seat. My son recently experienced a near-catastrophic incident where the inner lining of the potty on the front was excessively sharp, causing a significant risk of injury.

The sharpness of the inner lining resulted in a laceration that could have led to severe harm. He was almost castrated. After researching online, I found numerous comments echoing similar concerns about this specific product, indicating a widespread problem that requires urgent action.

As a concerned parent, I urge you to investigate this matter promptly and take necessary measures to ensure the safety of all children using your products. It is crucial to address this issue to prevent further incidents and potential injuries.

I look forward to your prompt response and actions to rectify this safety concern. Concerned mother [REDACTED]

Made May 20, 2022, sent to the company May 24, 2022, published by CPSC Jun 8, 2022

The product, in the report: Munchkin Sturdy Potty Seat. Grey. 16 x 3.75 x 18.5 inches.

This potty chair is not only wobbly and prone to make children fall when trying to stand up, it is dangerous! The splash guard is made of a plastic that causes the foreskin to stick to it. So when the child tries to stand up, the base of the penis sticks to the plastic and can cause a tear. My son tried to stand up from this seat and fell off the toilet with his penis stuck in the splash guard. His skin tore at the base about 3cm and required stitches. The doctor was patient enough to apply skin glue to avoid stitches. So I am reporting this to let other parents know that this potty seat caused my 3 year old son to get his penis glued back together because of the damage caused. There must be a legal case against this potty seat. I know I am not the only one who’s child was mutilated by it.
