On Saturday April 12, 2014, I was in the bathroom putting on makeup, when my two year old son came in to use the potty. I put the Luvable Friends Potty Trainer Seat on the toilet and he got on and went potty. When he got off, he started crying and I asked what was wrong, and that’s when I saw blood. The Potty Trainer Seat had cut my sons penis at the base and it was bleeding heavily. I immediately grabbed a washcloth to put pressure on his penis while I dialed the pediatricians office. As I was on the phone with them I got some gauze and put it on my son’s cut and held it to help stop the bleeding. The Pediatrician recommended that we come immediately to their office since it was closer than the hospital. Once the Pediatrician saw his injury, she then sent us on to the [REDACTED] Emergency room where my son was treated with a butterfly stitch. I have contacted the manufacturer ([REDACTED] at Baby Vision) who denied that their product was defective and refused to turn in a claim to their insurance carrier. Our Luvable Friends Potty Trainer Seat that I purchased about 4 years ago from Amazon.com has a defect in the front of the seat that you can see and if you feel it, it is very sharp. I am very concerned about this. This was a very traumatic injury and I would hate for this to happen to another child.
