How badly anyone was hurt

As each report says it, in short words; CPSC’s own words are under each.

The reports, as CPSC published them

Reports people made to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission. CPSC publishes each one after sending it to the company named, and doesn’t guarantee they’re accurate. A report isn’t a recall.

Each report is the words of the person who made it, as CPSC published them. The company’s comments, where CPSC published any, are set apart as the company’s own.

  1. Hurt, care not known

Made Apr 8, 2015, sent to the company May 4, 2015, published by CPSC May 18, 2015

The product, in the report: hard plastic baby potty

The consumer’s 2-1/2 year old (approx. 30 lbs., 32” tall) daughter was sitting on the potty seat, when she pinched a finger on one of her hands. The skin became discolored.

The daughter used the potty previously in the flat position. The potty can be placed on top or a toilet seat or used by itself. The incident occurred when the seat was being used by itself, on a flat surface on the floor.

There are 2 (5” high) legs attached to the seat. The legs have 3 positions (1 sitting on top of a toilet seat); the legs can be placed 90 degrees to the seat and it becomes a free standing toilet seat. However, in the 90 degree position, the slightest amount of pressure applied to the product can cause it to collapse. Then a child’s fingers could be caught between the seat and the legs of the potty.

(4/8/2015) The consumers called the brand name company and informed them about the problem. They spoke with [REDACTED]. [REDACTED] said that the product had been tested and met all U.S. and European regulations. [REDACTED} did not offer comment about the issue. The consumers offered to send a video and [REDACTED] accepted that offer. The consumer sent [REDACTED] a video of the incident.

The product came fully assembled. The product is for ages 16 and up and has a maximum weight limit of 96 lbs.

The consumer added the age limit is not accurate for toddlers.
