The product, in the report: The product is a toilet seat with a flip-down insert for small children BEMIS NextStep Round Closed Front Toilet Seat - White Model # 583SLOW 000

My four year old son was sitting on a Bemis NextStep round toilet seat purchased from Home Depot. He was leaning forward, and fell off of the toilet seat. As a result, he ended up with a significant cut at the base of his penis that required a visit to the emergency room. Initially they thought he would require stitches, but they were able to use surgical glue instead.

I believe my son’s injury was caused by the skin being pulled as it was caught between the front edge of the seat and his body as he fell.

(A similar complaint about this seat from someone else on here blamed a sharp edge, but I think my son’s injury was from the skin being caught and pulled, rather than cut on an edge)

The incident date here is estimated, but I can get the exact date if necessary.
