The reports, as CPSC published them

Reports people made to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission. CPSC publishes each one after sending it to the company named, and doesn’t guarantee they’re accurate. A report isn’t a recall.

The product, in the report: Dream Lites- Penguin pillow

My infant son’s dream lite was on top of a toy box and was melting on its own. It was not by a heater or turned on. My husband could smell the burning. Our house burnt down in January due to furnace issues. My now 8 month old son received this as a gift, after the fire. I could not imagine what may have happened. This is a very unsafe product and needs to be recalled. I wasn’t able to get in contact with anybody despite trying several different numbers. Most numbers were for delivery purposes.

The product, in the report: DreamLites Snuggly Puppy by Pillow Pets USA

My young child was holding and playing in the living room with his DreamLite by Pillow Pets. As he was playing, he tripped forward and landed with his face on the pillow where there is a plastic housing cover for the light to shine through. The plastic housing cover cracked exposing sharp edges as the crack went from one star pattern to another. These cracks in the plastic was very sharp and exposed enough that it cause laceration to the facial area. Two areas, on the forehead and on the cheek, the laceration was deep enough that pressure had to applied several minutes to stop the bleeding. I am very concerned that toys made for small children would be made with such a cheap plastic such that it would break so easily with simple fall.

The product, in the report: Penguin DreamLite

My 3 year old son was going to take a nap and took his Penguin DreamLite to bed. He was trying to turn the light on by pressing the button. He pressed another area which is round and his finger went throught the plastic wear there is an emblim of a face on the top. His finger got stuck and it cut him as he struggled to get it out. The emblim does not appear to be secure.
