The product, in the report: Meridian Night Light with sensor. It is difficult to see the model number, but it looks like it is 21001. Possibly: 21001
I have an LED Meridian Night Light with darkness sensor that caused burn marks on the plug and on the outlet. I will try to post photos. The circuit tripped last night, but I was unaware of its cause. This evening my 6 year old daughter brought me the night light - when I noticed the burn on the plug. This was also when the outlet burns were noticed. After some research, the night light may have been purchased at Wal Mart or on Amazon, but I’m not sure how long we’ve had it or how long it has been continuously plugged in. The sensor would make me think that it would draw less power since it’s activated by darkness and with an LED bulb, it would not draw enough heat to cause a flash-burn. I cannot imagine a worse catastrophe than causing a fire in one of my daughter’s rooms with a night light that is there to give them peace of mind while they sleep. This product cannot be safe for the many parents who use night lights in their children’s rooms (or anywhere else in the house).
