  1. No one hurt

Made Jan 18, 2013, sent to the company Jan 30, 2013, published by CPSC Feb 13, 2013

The product, in the report: “LAVA”Lite, nite light to be pugged into a 120V. Has plug, metallic base, pink lava gel basin with gel and top metallic base.

My wife purchased a childrens “LAVA” nite lite for our 7 year old daughter’s room She plugged it in and left the room. About an hour later, I was checking on the lite, and noticed the aluminum base was scolding hot. This would have burned my daughter had she tried to remove her nite lite. The entire metal/aluminum base gets so hot in a short time, one cannot hold it at all. I thnk this is very dangerous for kid’s rooms or households. There is a definite fire threat and injury threat, I unplugged the lite and have not used it again.
