No one hurt Made Nov 30, 2023, sent to the company Dec 5, 2023, published by CPSC Dec 19, 2023
The product, in the report: Hatch Rest 2nd Gen
I was nearly electrocuted and it would have also been extremely easy for my small children to have been electrocuted. I was using the Hatch Rest 2nd Gen. We have purchased two of these, to use as night lights and white noise for our children. My one child is 9 m/o and the other is 3.5 y/o. I went to unplug the plug from the wall. It is a normal, fully encased electric plug at the wall, with a cord, that is small and plugs into the sound machine. I unplugged it and the entire plug case came off with it. AND! The metal prongs stayed in the outlet! Basically, there was a metal prong in the outlet and anyone could have reached out and touched it! No injuries occurred but this is highly likely to occur with other families. Please recall!

No one hurt Made Jul 8, 2023, sent to the company Jul 11, 2023, published by CPSC Jul 25, 2023
The product, in the report: Child’s sound machine and nightlight with wireless base charger. Hatch rest + 2nd generation
We were using the hatch rest+ 2nd generation in our room with our newborn. It stopped working a couple of weeks after using it. We contacted the company who sent us a new power cord and said they were getting a reading of power inconsistencies. I then tried the new cord in my newborns room were I was also sleeping. It wouldn’t turn on when the cord was plugged into the wireless base or the device directly. I left it plugged into the wireless charger to see if maybe it needed to charge and checked on it later. When I went in my daughters room because she was crying I happened to grab the sound machine so I could look at it while she slept. When I picked it up the sound machine stuck to the base and was warm. Then I noticed it was starting to melt under the machine on the wireless charger. When I flipped the charger over it was completely melted through, smelled like chemicals, and I could see the computer chip inside the. Base. The plastic was completely melted away. This could have started a fire in my child’s room.
