The product, in the report: First Alert night light (EL-2)
We had an First Alert Branded EL-2 night light plugged into our bathroom outlet (grounded). When my wife was in the bathroom getting ready for work last week, she happened to hear something and looked over to see the night light spark and catch on fire in a matter of seconds. I have contacted First Alert and they are concerned and have been in communication regarding. They have requested that I send faulty light back to them for further review via a prepaid label and box. No one was hurt and our house did not sustain damage apart from some plastic soot from faulty product.
