The product, in the report: Solar Powered Night Light

I work for a Fire Department in Los Angeles, CA. Pomona, CA to be exact.

We responded to a reported structure fire in a mobile home unit, with reported elderly person trapped, popping electrical sounds and smoke. Upon arrival, we found no persons home (after kicking in and severely damaging two doors) and no smoke or fire, fortunately.

What we did find was a completely melted and unidentifiable remnant of a solar night light hanging on the back of the unit, about six feet from another just like it (presumably). The homeowner was VERY lucky his siding didn’t catch on fire and also that he had nothing directly above it that would carry the fire to the rest of the house.

I took pictures of it and have contacted customer service of the manufacturer and have received no reply. Upon Googling this product, there are SEVERAL complaints about this exact problem on line. The light has the name “”Everbrite” on it.
