The product, in the report: In mid-July 2026, my 2-year-old son was inside his Dream On Me Full Size Folding Crib when the structure experienced a sudden failure. While he was rocking inside the crib, the small screws securing a pivotal hinge came completely undone, causing the crib to collapse and my son to fall in. The crib design completely failed to withstand a toddlers rocking movements. This highlights a severe lack of inclusive design. Any autistic child who rocks in this crib - even if they are well under the 50 lb maximum weight recommendation - is at serious risk of the hardware coming undone and getting severely injured. I have documented this failure and reported it to the manufacturer, but they deflected responsibility, claiming my son is 2 inches over their 35-inch recommended max height. However, he is 28 lbs 7 oz, which is well under the 50 lbs maximum weight limit, and the screws had been noticeably loosening over several months while he was still under their height threshold. Furthermore, their customer service response was highly concerning and contradictory. They completely dismissed my safety concerns regarding my son and gave instructions to stop using the broken crib for him, but then shockingly suggested reusing the same broken, defective crib for another child. Additionally, this exact unit has been riddled with factory failures from the date of purchase - arriving in late 2023 completely missing its entire hardware kit and castors. Using small screws to support a pivotal, load-bearing hinge on a folding crib is a severe design and safety flaw, and the manufacturers cavalier attitude toward this hazard poses an immediate public safety risk to infants and toddlers.

(05/15/2023) The consumer has a safety concern about the hard sharp plastic blocks that look like bricks. They are located on each end of the crib. The issue is when the mattress is in its lowest position and the blocks are visible. One of the children in the consumer’s care scratched his head on the blocks. No medical attention was required.

The product, in the report: Dream On Me Jett Mini Portable Folding Crib Crib for baby to sleep in
I heard my baby screaming. Mothers instinct I knew something was wrong. It wasn’t the normal I’m hungry. I walk into my baby’s bedroom and he is face down, neck is stuck in between mattress and under the bed. He could have choked himself to death. His neck was scratched and red. I am very lucky that it wasn’t worst.

The product, in the report: A foldable mini crib
I am looking to purchase a mini crib for my four-month-old son. The top recommended brand is the dream on me brand. It is the number one best seller. It comes with a small changing mat but recommends that you purchase a mattress additionally. They recommend purchasing their brand of mini mattress. Upon further investigation of the product specifications, the manual states to use a mattress no thicker than 2 inches. All of their mattresses are well over 3 inches for the mini crib. They are purposely misleading parents and Amazon is currently recommending buying both the mattress and the crib together. When I search their website, they do not sell a mattress that fits their safety specifications. Even worse, there is no mattress on the market that fits their safety recommendations. This product is sold through many stores and parents are purchasing a mattress that isn’t safe according to their own manual. As a new mother, this is extremely upsetting to me. Here is an example of one of their products Dream On Me Aden 4-in-1 Convertible Mini Crib in White, Greenguard Gold Certified https://www.amazon.com/dp/B006Z2C032/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_YWYPEVG474HFNASMZQJF

The product, in the report: portable crib from Dream on Me model 681
Purchased a ‘Dream on Me’ portable crib Model 681. It was put together correctly, however, there are screws facing in to the crib when the crib bottom is lowered. My 6 month old granddaughter was placed into the crib. When she woke from her nap, she had bloody scratches on her face. The exposed screws in the crib caused this injury.

The product, in the report: Dream On Me 2 in 1 Lightweight Folding Portable Stationary Side Crib, White Dream On Me, 2 in 1 Lightweight Folding Portable Crib, 681 features unique hinges that allow the crib to fold flat for compact storage or travel and stationary (non drop side) rail design which provides the utmost in product safety. Made of solid pine and having a beautiful finish, this portable crib has safety hooded, locking wheels and can be converted from crib to playpen with one hand. Weighing only 32 lbs, this crib is easy to maneuver and handle. Dream On Me, A 1 Mattress Pad and all tools for easy assembly are included.
The “Dream On Me 2 in 1 Lightweight Folding Portable Stationary Side Crib, White” was purchased on Amazon for my baby. The crib is located in our bedroom next to our bed. My child’s father and I were laying in bed. My 11 month old baby was standing in the crib next to us watching TV before bed last night and the bottom of the crib completely collapsed and my baby fell out the bottom of the crib. Luckily she does not appear to have any serious injuries other than a scrape. The pins that hold the bottom of the crib up were still locked even though the bottom of the crib collapsed. This is safety hazard and the crib could potentiality seriously injure or possibly cause death to a baby. I just check the reviews on Amazon and this has happened to another consumer.

The product, in the report: Dream on Me 2 in 1 lightweight Folding Portable Stationary Side Crib
I bought the Dream on Me 2 in 1 Lightweight Folding Portable Stationary side crib From Amazon on September 17th 2019. This crib broke TWICE, where its bottom simply gave away and my baby fell to the floor. The first time was in NOvember (exact date i donot remember). We thought maybe somehow the folding mechanism had been activated, refitted it back. Second time again it happened December 26th . We contacted the manufacturer on December 27th and were told we would get an email where we could fill out the details. No email came. I then contacted Amazon with my complaint. They told me that they had actually REMOVED the product form their website because of MULTIPLE similar complaints surrounding it. But they issued NO recall no warning to the other consumers who had already brought this product. AND this product is still being sold on their website through other sellers. But they think that is permissible. We want to query both the manufacturer of this item for making a defective and dangerous product and also question Amazon’s decision in not issuing a recall/warning about a product that they KNEW was defective having received multiple complaints , enough for them to take it off their website.

The product, in the report: Dream On Me Zodiak portable crib
I bought three Dream On Me Zodiac portable cribs two 5/18/14 and one 10/8/14 through Amazon. I have been noticing that the foam in the mattress is not attached to the mattress and has over time bunched and made lumps in the mattresses. If the foam is not lying flat against the board in the mattress but is bunched a baby could suffocate. This is a very dangerous product.

The product, in the report: Dream on Me 2 in 1 Folding Full Size Cribe
In Aug 2014, I purchased the Dream on Me 2 in 1 Folding Crib (http://www.walmart.com/ip/Dream-On-Me-2-in-1-Full-Size-Folding-Crib-Espresso/13278310) and my son was born [REDACTED] and started using the crib coming home from the hospital. Less than a month later, the 4 caster wheels started falling apart and collapsing. I contacted Walmart on Oct 13, 2014 and Walmart suggested I contact the manufacturer. On Oct 24, 2014 I contacted the manufacturer and they sent me replacement caster wheels. I replaced the wheels and again in less than 1 month, the wheels fell apart and started collapsing again. I contacted the manufacturer again and some email communications were received and upon my request for a resolution for the defective product, the manufacturer stopped replying to my email and I have sent across 3 follow up emails and noone has responded. The collapsed wheels are posing a risk of suffocation, as the baby is not on a flat even surface, but rather at an angle. No harm has been done to the baby as I have since bought a replacement crib from another manufacturer.

First aid Made Mar 19, 2014, sent to the company Apr 14, 2014, published by CPSC Apr 28, 2014
The product, in the report: Portacrib
Caller purchased a porta-crib October 27th, 2013 and had no problems until February 17th, 2014 when she heard her baby daughter crying. She reached to pick her 13 month old daughter up but saw that the baby’s right leg was caught between the bars up to above her knee and could not get loose. The caller was afraid the baby mights break her leg due to panic and thrashing around trying to remove her leg from between the slats. The caller was at her mothers and fathers house and yelled for help thinking that there was a possibility that the slats were cutting the circulation off in her daughters leg. When they could not loosen the baby’s leg from between the slats within a few moments the caller’s father got a saw and sawed the slats to release the baby’s leg. When they removed the baby from the porta-crib her right leg was very red but not injured. The caller treated her baby’s leg with ice packs.
No physician was involved She contacted the manufacturer on March 19th, 2014 and spoke with [REDACTED] who took a report but did not provide a report number. He did ask if this caller would like for the manufacturer to send her replacement slats to which she replied that she did not because she had no intention of using the product again. She put the porta-crib outside for refuse pick up when the incident happened.

No one hurt Made Jul 13, 2011, published by CPSC Aug 4, 2011
The product, in the report: Dream on Me 3-in-1 portable crib
On May 24th 2011 I purchased a Dream On Me 3-in-one portable crib off of amazon.com which shipped from CSN stores. It arrived damaged on June 4th and I contacted CSN stores who then shipped me a replacement crib. On June 17th 2011 I opened the box containing the new crib and it too had surface damage (nicks in the wood) but I decided to keep it as I needed a crib and wasn’t going to keep waiting for new ones to ship! I pulled out the first piece, which is partially assembled, and it fell apart. The 2 pieces had been glued together but not enough glue was used apparently. So, I had wood glue and glued the pieces together myself. They fit together well so I wasn’t concerned. I assembled the entire crib and used it for less than 1 week with a 13 mth old child who weighs less than 20 lbs. He is a typical baby and when he was awake from his nap he was holding onto the side of the crib and bouncing up and down. I entered the room to get him when suddenly the crib shifted and a corner of the crib sunk down. The locking caster in the front of the crib snapped! This compromised the safety of the crib and the child! I contacted the CSN store as well as the manufacturer. CSN ordered a new caster, Dream on Me has yet to reply. I am very concerned about the safety of this crib! I have read many disturbing reviews on line now about this crib and feel that it needs attention. This crib does not feel well-built. This caster breaking should never have happened and I am left wondering what is next! I do have photos if they are needed or desired.

The product, in the report: Dream On Me 3 in 1 Portable Crib
I purchased a Dream on Me 3 in 1 infant portable crib with the drop down sides. When completing the company’s online form for the current recall of this product, I found that though my model number (#625) was the same the manufacturing date was one month later (March 2009). I understand that the recall only includes model #625 manufactured until February 2009. After contacting the company they claimed there was a change in manufacturing plants.
While I was going through my crib to collect the information for the recall, I found that the top rail on the drop side of the crib is split. The wood has split at the contact point of the drop side hard ware. I believe this is from when my daughter (1 year old and 20lbs) pulls herself up to a stand. There must be pressure at the hardware point causing the wood to split. I believe the reason for the current recall is this same issue, but for some reason did not include items manufactured later than February ‘09.
We use this crib at a seasonal home, have never dropped down the side, and have only used the crib a dozen times. I feel that the product is inferior, and should be included as part of the current Dream on Me recall.

Broken slats. No injuries known
This in regards to the Dream on Me portable crib recall Release #11-224 Rockford MELD has a shelter and transitional living apartments for homeless teen moms. We purchased 12 of these cribs in May 2010. Our cribs are the Dream On Me 621 model but dated April 2009 and July 2009. So far one of our cribs have broken slats. I don’t know if there were any injuries as the client in the transitional apartment did not inform me of the incident. I found the broken crib after the client moved out. Since we are replacing all our drop side cribs I did not think about reporting it at the time I found it, but since you are recalling them you may want to reconsider the manufactured and purchase dates. These are not a good crib and i’m regretting every purchasing them. i am surprised they were JPMA certified
* Portable Cribs: The cribs are smaller than full-size cribs and the ends fold in to facilitate portability. Model numbers 621, 625 and 627 are included in this recall. The model number and “Dream on Me Inc.” are printed on a label located on the mattress board. The label lists a manufacture date between August 2007 and February 2009. sold from September 2007 to December 2009
