The product, in the report: EllaRoo Brand Ring Sling in the Malay design

I purchased an EllaRoo brand baby Ring Sling style carrier from a local store. I do not remember which store. I used it once in my home to try it out, then put it away in the cabinet. I proceeded to use my other carriers more regularly. During the first week of may 2013, I wanted to use the sling again so I took it out and used it two more times to carry my 8month old baby boy while running errands. I used it for about 15-20 minutes each time. The 2nd time I noticed it was starting to get loose, and the material was slipping through the rings. I knew this was not supposed to happen but I couldn’t figure out why it was starting to slip. So again I put the sling away and decided to try again later. On May 10th, 2013, my husband and I decided to go for a walkaround the neighborhood. I let my husband try the EllaRoo ring sling this time....we were walking for approx. 10 minutes when I asked if he liked the sling. he told me it was slipping through the rings and was not feeling very safe. It felt like the baby could slip out at anytime. By now, I was thoroughly frustrated because it was NOT supposed to be doing that. It should feel tight and secure. I inspected the sling and saw that one of the rings was bending..It was supposed to be a circular shape, but instead it was an oval shape. This oval shape was preventing the rings from fitting together properly and keeping the baby safely in the sling. When i first got the sling it was circular, but somehow it was now bending into an oval. I believe the ring is somehow faulty and the weight of the baby was pulling the ring into this oval shape, This should not happen. The rings should be strong enough to hold a baby safely, and not loose shape. I intend on contacting the manufacturer as well. I am very unhappy with this sling because it poses a definite safety hazard. had I not noticed the slipping of the material, my baby boyt could have fallen to the ground and gotten seriously injured.

The product, in the report: Ring Sling, Baby Carrier

I received a brand new Ellaroo Ring Sling and used it three times over the past five days. Today while at the store I noticed the sling loosening, I supported my baby and removed him from the sling. After taking off the sling, I realized the ring had bent and the fabric had fallen through. If I had not noticed, my 6 week old would have fallen completely out.
