The product, in the report: Pottery Barn Kids Planet Ceiling Mobile
My sun was sleeping in his crib when the solar system mobile from Pottery Barn kids fell on him. Upon inspection we noted that the nylon string from which the mobile was hung (provided with the mobile), snapped at the point it was connected to the mobile. It appears the the mobile was blown by the fan, and swirled around. Eventually, the torsional stress caused the string to snap, causing the mobile to fall. Of note, some websites have warnings to not hang a specific mobile over a bed. At the time of the incident, pottery barn did not include any such warning on the mobile webpage. Several other customers hang the mobile above cribs, as evidenced by the social media posts they encourage people to do using their products.

The product, in the report: Pottery Barn Kids “Stork Crib Mobile” Item 7203524
In 2009 I purchased from Pottery Barn Kids the “stork mobile” for my baby’s crib Item #7203524. I used it also on my second child’s crib. The other day I found the mobile snapped in half lying in my baby’s crib with a large piece of sharp wood inside the crib. A similar product is still being sold by Pottery Barn kids (Items 95-364678, 95-8825291, 31-7811300, 31-7702087. This is very dangerous and should not be sold.
