The product, in the report: Crib toy, Baby Einstein Sea Dreams Soother made by Kid 2
My son, age 22 months, has been using the Baby Einstein Sea Dreams Soother since he was about 6 weeks old. Today, June 7th, 2019 at about 8:25am, I awoke suddenly to my son screaming. He had moved his in crib and hit the toy above his head in his crib/toddle bed. The toy came off the mount and hit him in the face. He had a black eye from the incident. He was consolable. He did not need medical attention. The safety device on the back that holds the toy on to the mount (a green button) failed to hold the toy securely to the crib mount.

The product, in the report: Baby Einstein Deep Sea Soother
Baby Einstein Sea Dream Soother was mounted securely to infant crib. With the slightest bump it fell , hitting my infant 3 month old son in the head. After calming him and seeing he was okay I proceeded to examine the cause of the incident. I found that the latch system isn’t secure. With the slightest tug it easily came unlatched. Not only did it come unlatched the the inner piece of the latch broke off. Not only is this a dangerous cause for injury, but this could also become a choke hazard. I feel that I wasted my money on this toy and also feel that it is very cheaply put together for a high buying price. This product needs to be taken off the market and recalled immediately before a baby is severely injured. I will continue to try to get my money back.

No one hurt Made Sep 17, 2013, sent to the company Sep 25, 2013, published by CPSC Nov 1, 2013
The product, in the report: Baby Einstein Sea Dreams Soother. Machine that attaches to crib that lights up and plays music.
I had purchased the Baby Einstein Sea Dreams Soother a few months ago. We installed it according to the instructions onto the side of our son’s crib. The other day we heard a loud bang and looked on our video monitor and saw that the soother was in our son’s crib. After removing our son from the crib we reattached the soother. My husband pulled down on it and sure enough it came crashing down. We reattached it several times to make sure the clip had clipped all the way and it came off each time even after we heard the click when we attached it. I am in the process of contacting the manufacturer to get a replacement but wanted to report it in case it happens to anyone else. We were lucky it didn’t land on his head.

No one hurt Made Jul 2, 2013, sent to the company Jul 11, 2013, published by CPSC Jul 25, 2013
The product, in the report: Baby Einstein Sea Dreams Soother. Approximately 12 inches by 7 inches, featuring a turtle, clownfish, and octopus. Blue nylon strap that fastens around crib rail and secures with a clip attachment. Plays classical music.
We own the Baby Einstein Sea Dreams Soother. Last night and tonight, the soother unlatched itself and fell into my son’s crib. During the incident this evening, it actually struck my son in the head. Thankfully there weren’t any cuts or visible, immediate bruising, but there were some very heavy tears. I plan on monitoring him throughout the night, because of the seriousness of the tears and because his crib is on the lowest setting and the soother fell quite far.

Hurt, no treatment Made Dec 30, 2012, sent to the company Jan 17, 2013, published by CPSC Feb 8, 2013
The product, in the report: Baby Einstein Neptune crib soother, moving aquarium pictures with music and remote control, approximately 12x8 inches, red straps, blue front button, 4 sound settings, 2 volume settings.
Our Baby Einstein Neptune Soother was installed on the side of our 6 month old’s crib, as per instructions. Product has been in place for approximately 3 months. Product’s straps apparently came loose from the crib and fell on our baby’s head, coming to rest inside the crib, with the string still attached, but the red straps were unattached.

First aid Made Nov 11, 2011, sent to the company Nov 25, 2011, published by CPSC Dec 16, 2011
The product, in the report: Crib Toy - attaches to the inside of the crib and plays music and has fun visuals to entertain and soothe the infant.
I purchased from Baby Einstein a crib toy (the type that attaches to your crib and the baby can press a button and play music). It’s called the Sea Dreams Lullaby Soother.
It’s very easy to attach to the crib, which is nice for parents, but it turns out that it’s just as easy for the infant to remove. My baby is 7 months old, so she’s limited in her movements still, not crawling, but can intentionally push the button on the soother with her foot to play the music.
Last week I heard a big thud and then she started screaming. I came into her room and found the soother lying in the crib and she had a knot on her forehead and what would turn into a black eye. I was horrified as I thought that I perhaps had put the toy on wrong or something. Keep in mind that I’m a mom of 4, so these toys are not new to me and I am a college educated person as well. I put the toy back on, and made sure it was snug tight. The next naptime she was able to get it half off, but I came to her before it could fall off again completely. Basically, all you have to do is push up on the soother and it comes undone.
I attached the soother again last night and again she was able to get it off again this morning after only minutes. She’s no genius, just a typical 7 month old.
I’m concerned that given the weight of this item, (almost 4 pounds), a concussion could possibly result as the product is falling from above.
