The reports, as CPSC published them

Reports people made to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission. CPSC publishes each one after sending it to the company named, and doesn’t guarantee they’re accurate. A report isn’t a recall.

Each report is the words of the person who made it, as CPSC published them. The company’s comments, where CPSC published any, are set apart as the company’s own.

  1. No one hurt

Made Feb 12, 2012, sent to the company Feb 17, 2012, published by CPSC Mar 5, 2012

The product, in the report: Sophie the Giraffe is aprox 17cm in height and is made from natural rubber (phtalate-free). white with brown spots to the body. The product is “flexible, and soft, baby can squeeze and chew her in complete safety”. The above quote is straight from the manufacturers web site.

I purchased a product called Sophie the Giraffe made by

1 Two Kids Limited 26 Kirkgate Burntisland KY3 9DL United Kingdom

    01592 871291 enquiries@sophielagirafe.co.uk

The product is designed for baby’s to help with teething. After four months or so the squeaker located inside the Giraffe stopped working. On closer inspection I noticed that the squeaker had become detached from the structure of the product. With ease I managed to maneuver the squeaker valve which is aprox inch long by 20mm wide towards the hole left by the squeaker. I then with ease managed to push the squeaker valve through the hole resulting in the valve being detached from the product as the product is made from natural rubber and quite stretchy.

My child has not used this product for long as he has only recently become interested in it. And as this product is manufactured for baby’s I am worried that the valve could become lodged in a baby’ throat.
