The product, in the report: Philips AVENT SuperSoothie 3-18 months

My 6 month old daughter was sleeping with her Philips AVENT Soothie 3-18 months when she woke up screaming and crying in pain. We ran into her nursery and found that her thumb was stuck inside the depression of the pacifier and it was cutting off circulation to her thumb. This was done when she grabbed her pacifier in her sleep. She didnt immediately scream and cry, so it was on for an hour before the swelling caused her severe pain. It took us 10 minutes to troubleshoot what happened because the way the pacifier is designed, it looked like she was holding it the way it was meant to be held. It was so tight on her thumb that we could not get it off by gently pulling, we had to run it under water with soap and gently coax it off. All while our baby was screaming in pain. Her thumb was swollen and red after the event. My husband is a medical professional who evaluated her. The pacifier was being used in accordance with manufacturer directions. I just started using the product on April 30, 2024. I hadnt even opened all of the items from their original packaging. I have videos from my daughters nursery camera of the item stuck on her thumb. Upon investigation online, many other parents have experienced this issue with some having to take their kids to the hospital and having doctors prevent thumb necrosis and amputation. Even if there is a warning on the package, this product needs to be adjusted or pulled from the market completely. Its even more alarming that it is advertised as being the most widely used product in hospitals, which was our consideration when purchasing. It gave a false sense of security.
