The product, in the report: Sassy Baby Teether and Rattle combination toy. Manufacturing marking of “H2” is stamped on the product. I did check the manufacturers web site and did NOT find this product or similar products recalled.

Child was using a Sassy Baby Rattle / Teether. The outer rubber covering of part of the toy came completely off and could have resulted in the child choking perhaps even death. However this was observed immediately and the toy was taken away.

I checked the manufactures website and could not find this product listed as recalled. I am also concerned that other products of theirs may use that same teether ball design and would also be at risk of falling apart and lead to a child choking.

I have a copy of the email sent to the manufacturer and pictures of the product but I could not upload them in this form. Please advise as how I can attach them to this incident case

The product, in the report: Sassy Dragonfly Teether/Rattle. Purple and Green wings with a blue body and orange stripes on the loop/handle at the bottom.

My mother was watching the baby so I could get ready before she left for work. We put her in the bassinet which doubles almost as a bouncy seat because you can strap her in and she can sit on an incline. We gave her a teether/rattle to play with which is in the shape of a dragonfly. The bottom part of the dragonfly is a loop so the baby can hold onto it and she had that part in her mouth and the next thing my mother knew was that she had the whole loop part in her mouth and could not get it out. She started gagging and thank God my mother was there with her because she was able to help her. I just can’t believe they would make a toy where a small baby could get part of it in her mouth all the way and then not be able to get the toy back out again. I couldn’t imagine what could have happened if I had given it to her while I was in the shower and she was in her crib. I just think everyone needs to know about the toy and that they shouldn’t just leave there baby with it un supervised.

The product, in the report: Sassy Buzz N Bite Gentle Vibrating Teether

My 11 month old son has been using the “Sassy Buzz N Bite Gentle Vibrating Teether” for a few months. I recently noticed that on the top left wing, which has raised bumps for biting to sooth teething pain, one of the bumps had been almost completely bitten off by my son. These bumps are not meant to come off and I’m glad I had noticed it before it had been bitten off and possibly swallowed or chocked on. I also sent an email to Sassy to report this problem.

The product, in the report: Sassy teething ring and phone rattle. Both have black and white foam stripes. Teether has smaller multi-colored rings on it as well as a red ball with white dots. Phone rattle is red and orange on the ends.

The plastic covering is peeling from a Sassy teething ring purchased from WalMart in December 2010. A phone rattle from this same set has foam/plastic pieces coming off in small pieces.
