We distribute a NUK® Pacifier primarily to hospitals that use our infant formulas. The plastic portion of the NUK® Newborn Orthodontic Pacifier-Exerciser is made of polypropylene and the bulb/nipple part is made of latex rubber. There is no BPA used in our NUK® Newborn Orthodontic Pacifier-Exerciser. There is a tear-off pad included within the pacifier packaging box which provides the following Warning information:

“1. DO NOT TIE pacifier around an infant’s neck, as it presents a strangulation danger.

    2. For infants under 4 months only. At any age, DISCONTINUE USE IMMEDIATELY if child could fit entire pacifier in mouth. Do not leave child unattended with pacifier in mouth.

    3. TO PREVENT A POSSIBLE CHOKING HAZARD, test strength of nipple by pulling hard on bulb portion before each use. DISCONTINUE USE IMMEDIATELY if pacifier becomes torn, cracked, sticky, enlarged, or shows other signs of wear.

Replace pacifier after 2-3 months, or earlier if showing signs of wear. Natural latex rubber reacts with baby’s saliva and can break down. Prolonged shelf storage, particularly in direct sunlight or extreme heat, can also weaken latex.”

This product is unsafe for our patients, family members and health care givers. It should be labeled as containing latex. Thank you.
