The reports, as CPSC published them

Reports people made to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission. CPSC publishes each one after sending it to the company named, and doesn’t guarantee they’re accurate. A report isn’t a recall.

The product, in the report: Pacifier clip that attaches pacifier to baby’s clothing.

I purchased a BabiesRUs brand pacifier clip for my 10 month old granddaughter. Within 5 minute, I saw her with a small white plastic object in her mouth (approx 1/4 inch). Luckily she did not choke on it, but it IS a choking hazzard. It is part of the plastic snap that pulled out of the fabric connecting the pacifier to the clip. I have kept the packaging.

I phoned the store (Folsom CA) and advised the assistant manager that was on duty Friday August 21 at 2pm to advise that this product should be removed from the shelf.

The product, in the report: Babies R Us BPA Free Pacifier Clip - Car “R”Web#:112140 SKU:7853AC0B UPC/EAN/ISBN:717851211041 Manufacturer #: 1921103H12

I am writing you because I believe the Babies R Us pacifier holder currently for sale has some serious product safety issues. The item I am referring to can be found here on the website: http://www.toysrus.com/product/index.jsp?productId=12652578

I have purchased 2 of these items and have found defects in both of them as follows:

    1) The small snap button came off the 1st one posing a choking/ aspiration hazard to my infant, there was no harm but I found the white button next to my child after a nap and it could have been a problem if he had swallowed it. 2) The 2nd one I purchased had the clip part (the part that is shaped like a car) break after my son rolled over on it and it broke into small pieces. Also causing a chocking. aspiration hazard to my infant. Again, I was right there with him and there was not any injury but the potential was there.

I take my child’s safety very seriously and hope that you would reevaluate this product’s materials and design because as they are now, they are not designed to withstand the rigor an infant places on them. My child is 5 months old and neither of these holders lasted us more than 3 weeks. The 1st time we had the product failure, I thought it was a fluke but to have 2 items fail seems to be more than a fluke and poor design or materials.

The product, in the report: Teething Beads - they are colorful plastic beads on a thin plastic ring that the baby can chew on.

Babies R Us Teething Beads (R Exclusive brand) My 5 month old daughter was chewing on the ‘safe’ teething beads that I purchased at my local Babies R Us store. The toy is approved for all ages and is a soft plastic beaded teething ring. The plastic ring broke inside of her mouth today and her babysitter was luckily sitting right next to her when it happened. If she was not right there, my daughter could have had one of the plastic beads lodged in her throat, or she could have swallowed it and choked.

I purchased the product Babies R Us in West Windsor, NJ. I called the main phone # of Babies R Us to file a complaint and upper management is supposed to call me back. The teething beads are a Babies R Us exclusive product - I am not sure who the manufacturer is.
