The reports, as CPSC published them

Reports people made to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission. CPSC publishes each one after sending it to the company named, and doesn’t guarantee they’re accurate. A report isn’t a recall.

Each report is the words of the person who made it, as CPSC published them. The company’s comments, where CPSC published any, are set apart as the company’s own.

  1. No one hurt

Made Oct 8, 2026, sent to the company Oct 14, 2026, published by CPSC Oct 28, 2026

The product, in the report: Silver Cross Coast full size stroller, colour Flint (dark grey frame and fabric). Single to double convertible stroller with a telescoping handlebar that locks to the chassis with a latch on each side.

Product: Silver Cross Coast stroller, colour Flint, bought new in September 2022 from buybuy BABY. Manufacturer: Silver Cross US, case #[REDACTED].

What failed: In August 2026 the lock on the right side of the handlebar stopped working. It no longer engages, and the right handlebar tube slides freely along the frame. The left lock still engages. The stroller has only been stored indoors and has not been dropped, modified or repaired.

Why it is dangerous: The handlebar is held by two locks. With the right one failed, the left lock carries the whole push, pull and steering load on its own, about twice its intended share. If the left lock also fails, the handlebar would come off the frame and the caregiver would lose control of the stroller, with a risk of tip over or roll away. This is based on my own observation and basic mechanics (I have a mechanical engineering degree). It has not been lab tested.

Close call: I have already lost partial control of the stroller on a slope because of this failure, with my two toddlers in it. No one was injured.

Who uses it: The stroller carries one or two of my young children at a time. I have three children: a newborn, a child who turns 2 in December, and a 3.5 year old.

Manufacturer response: On Aug 31, 2026 Silver Cross said the stroller is out of warranty, the Coast is discontinued, and no replacement chassis exists. I sent video of the failure on Sep 3. On Sep 10 they declined any repair or replacement, citing the expired warranty. On Sep 15 they said the case went to their Internal Review Team. On Sep 22 they said they were still waiting on that review. No decision since.

I have video and photos and have kept the stroller for inspection. Please check whether other Coast owners have reported the same handlebar lock failure.

The product, in the report: Silver cross side by side stroller

I am writing to report a serious safety concern regarding my Silver Cross double side-by-side stroller.

The stroller has a dangerous tendency to suddenly move or tip forward, which has already caused two separate accidents involving my grandchildren. These incidents were extremely alarming and could have resulted in serious injury.

The stroller was a gift, so I do not have the original receipt. I also do not have photographs or video of the incidents because my immediate concern was attending to the children after the accidents occurred.

I believe this is a serious safety issue that requires immediate attention. The absence of a receipt or photographs does not change the fact that the stroller has malfunctioned and has already been involved in two accidents.

Because of the potential danger this stroller poses to children, I intend to report this matter to the appropriate consumer safety authorities and local agencies unless this safety concern is properly investigated.

I request that Silver Cross review this complaint urgently and advise me of the steps that will be taken to address this issue.

    Sincerely,

    The product, in the report: Silver Cross Jet Double Stroller, black, L27 x W31 x H42.5 Folded Dimensions: L9 x W31 x H24 Weight: 19.7 lbs

I thought this would be our dream travel stroller for our twins who by the way are only 20 lbs. This stroller tipped over going forward in a parking lot at a crosswalk in [REDACTED] parking lot. Im baffled how a stroller with 50lbs max for each baby does this. My children have HORRIBLE scrapes on their faces that look like road rash. One of my 1.5 year olds got a concussion. DO NOT BUY!!!! I cant believe I paid 700 for this. I hope this company will look into improvements to avoid forward tipping. No parent should go through what we did.

The product, in the report: Neptune Blue Baby Stroller

Stroller chassis unlocks while pushing and can close on a child while the child is in it. I have reached out to silver cross to address this issue and they are unable to provide any help as there is no “Official recall” in place and they do not care about the safety of the children. only until enough of them are injured or worse.
