Hi so today I bought a jeep liberty stroller and a little after my husband filled up the tire I had my son in the stroller to adjust the shoulder straps the tire ruptured and struck me in my upper leg thigh area I looked online to find replacement tires and learned there was a recall because of this and read that I was supposed to contact the company for new tires I need 3, I have pictures of the stroller before and after and a picture of the model number

We own a bike shop in Boise Idaho. Today a customer came in with a Jeep Liberty Stroller. All three tires on the stroller were flat and wouldn’t hold air. We replaced all three tubes on the stroller. As we were inflating them, one of them exploded, breaking the inner plastic rim of the wheel in the process and sending it flying. Luckily nobody was hurt. We informed the customer and told him that we would replace the wheel. As we started searching for the replacement parts, we discovered that it had been recalled for this very reason. We are requesting replacement wheels for the stroller so we can get it back to the customer please.

To whom it may concern, I have a Kolcraft Jeep jogging stroller that was purchased as a gift for my daughter’s first birthday [REDACTED], but we did not use it until the last month or so because of her size. When we took it out and used it one night she climbed out and pushed down on the child tray snapping it off completely from the frame. I do not believe a 19lb child should be able to snap formed plastic in half and from a frame. Therefore I feel the product was defective. I have been in contact with Kolcraft customer service about this problem and their solution is for me to purchase another stroller. I feel they are overlooking this safety concern. I had an accident of exploded tire on one of the rear tire of Jeep stroller model #: JL031-XGA in Sept 2013. The plastic rim is deformed in a certain degree at the edge. I didn’t realized that this could be a quality issue hence I bought replacement tire and tube. I have used it for my first kid since 2009 and use it for my second kid currently.
I checked Kolcraft web site and the recall covers DOM from June 2010 to September 2011. April 2009 is not within the range. Just report for any possible quality problem which may happen on other customers.

He received a laceration on the side of his abdomen as a result. My husband and I have owned a Jeep Liberty stroller for 2 years. We love the stroller and it has been perfect for our toddler son. We were out walking with it this morning at the local high school and as we passed a woman walking her dog, the left back tire exploded off of the stroller, sounding like a gunshot. plastic flew off the stroller, nearly hitting the woman as she walked past us. we are expecting another child in only 5 short weeks and would like to have this replaced as soon as possible.

We own a Jeep Liberty stroller product # JL035 manufactured January 20, 2012. My husband was filling up the tires so we could use it this spring. When he was filling up the rear tire the tire exploded and the plastic sidewalls of the wheel were blown everywhere. No injuries were sustained, luckily my daughter was not standing beside him as she typically would be. I searched to find replacement parts and saw that these were recalled because of similar incidents. We would like a replacement stroller that is up to standard that we wouldn’t have to worry about the safety of everyone when filling tires and using the stroller.

Saturday September 24, 2011 we noticed that a rear tire was flat on our Jeep Stroller. Prior to the outdoor festival we were going to, my husband took the stroller to air it up and ended up going to 2 places since the tire was not holding air. We then thought there was something wrong with the outside of the tire, so my husband took it to a tire repair place. He was then told it was the tube. The tube was busted – not a hole, like it had exploded. So he had to go to another place to get the inner tube replaced. He then brought me the stroller. I put our 5 month old baby in it and walked around with the stroller for a couple of hours. On my way back to the car, we heard a loud pop, an explosion that sounded like gunfire and looked down to see a different tire than before off of the rim. This explosion was so loud that people in the street at the Festival we were attending ducked. Another tube had exploded! The force of this explosion busted the rim on the wheel. (We have a photo of the rim that we sent to Kolcraft.) Needless to say it scared everyone around us, including the baby. Luckily no one got hurt from the spray of plastic shards. We were driving the stroller on concrete, so there should be no issues there. I then had to carry the baby and push the stroller since the tire was now off of the wheel - fun. This fiasco with the stroller ruined the day for both my husband & I. We had barely used this stroller and the last time the tires were aired up was May 2011 when my husband put the stroller together. He put the correct amount of pressure in them. He is very good at details like that, so I know he did not over inflate them in May. There is something wrong with the inner tubes on these tires, to have 2 of them explode within a short amount of time. They are thin walled and cheap according to the person who replaced the one inner tube. Kolcraft replaced one tire and reimbursed us for 2 inner tubes. Although it looks like from their recall that the replacement needs replaced.
We just noticed last week that one of the tires is low again. We still have not received notice of this recall from Kolcraft. I only found out about it from CPSC e-mail.

I took my daughter out for a jog in the Jeep Overland Jogging stroller and the front tire of the stroller broke off when we hit a bump in the sidewalk. The stroller flipped foward and then fell on its side and my daughter’s right knee was scraped on the ground. When I inspected the Jeep I noticed that the plastic that enabled the tire to be locked in place completely broke off and the tire will no longer stay on.
