The product, in the report: Stroller

I have been using me Jeep Liberty Limited stroller and REALLY love it. However, recently the entire inside of the wheel cracked, whereas the jeep fell. Thank god my grandson was not seriously hurt. I have been trying to contact Jeep products and the company that made the Jeep stroller with regards to any and all recalls regarding wheel problems. I can not afford to get rid of my stroller and like I said i really love it...it goes everywhere and anywhere without any problems. I would like to know if i can get the wheel replaced. It is a BIG inconvenience due to the fact that I am unable to carry my grandson and the stroller is a HUGE asset to where we can go places. Your assistance would be greatly appreciated

The product, in the report: Orange/Brown Three wheel single stroller

The consumer stated that her daughter had her 2 year old, 27 pounds heavy son sitting inside of the stroller on an upright position. While her daughter was walking over a baseball field, she heard a loud exploding sound. Immediately, the stroller inclined towards the front while the child was still sitting inside of the it. The child was not injured. The consumer’s daughter removed her son from inside of the stroller. She stored the stroller to the consumer’s home and discontinued the use of it.

The following day, the consumer’s daughter contacted the manufacturer. She was upset because this unit was repaired according to recall #13-221 prior to this incident. The customer service representative informed her that there was no recalls involving the tires, and offered to send the consumer a new wheel free of charge. The consumer requested to return the product to the manufacturer and did not agreed to the replacement tire. The manufacturer still sent the replacement wheel.

The consumer thinks this product still poses the same hazard as the ones affected by recall #13-221. Hazard: The inner tube of the tire on the stroller can rupture causing the wheel rim to fracture and fly off as a projectile, posing a risk of bodily injury and property damage.

The product, in the report: Three-wheeled running stroller

Today, 22 Feb 2014, we were at the park with our 2 year old son and heard this loud boom and saw out of the corner of our eye something splinter off into the grass. After a quick investigation we saw that the back right tire of our Jeep Liberty Running Stroller model #JL031-XGA1 had exploded, causing pieces of the rim to fracture off. It was the tire that was in the sunlight, but just a little bit of sun should not have caused that type of explosion. We’ve had the stroller since 2011 and have run with it, but have not had this type of problem before. It’s extremely dangerous and thankfully no one was hurt in this incident. I did refill the tires with air recently, but made sure the tires were at the correct PSI just as you would a car.
