The reports, as CPSC published them

Reports people made to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission. CPSC publishes each one after sending it to the company named, and doesn’t guarantee they’re accurate. A report isn’t a recall.

Each report is the words of the person who made it, as CPSC published them. The company’s comments, where CPSC published any, are set apart as the company’s own.

  1. No one hurt

Made Aug 9, 2018, sent to the company Aug 17, 2018, published by CPSC Aug 31, 2018

The product, in the report: Cosco Simple Fold Travel System, Bright Lime, Black

I purchased a cosco simple fold travel system carseat and stroller in December of 2017. My grandson was born at the end of January and due to weather the stroller was not put together nor used until late April/Early May. The stroller would routinely tip to the side and the front wheel would lift off the ground. Upon inspection we noticed that the frame was actually bent causing the front wheel to always be raised from the ground slightly and with use it would be inches from ground. This caused it to stop abruptly while pushing, tip forward and to the one side and pull sideways. While walking with my grandson we once were stuck in the middle of crossing the highway and had to lift and carry it across to get out of the way of oncoming traffic. This safety hazard has caused us to stop using the product.

The product, in the report: Car Seat/Stroller Combo

I am sorry to report this so late but I was cleaning out my file and found the paperwork on this car seat/stroller and wanted to report two injuries that occurred with this. I did not find this particular model on your recall list. It is old and likely mainly off the market(except consignment stores, etc)but it is quite dangerous. The product is a Cosco Complete Voyager Car Seat/Stroller Item number 01-853 and 01-854 manufactured in 11/24/99. These two injuries happened years ago to us but we did not have internet then and I forgot about these incidents. What occurred in two separate incidents, once with my husband and once with me, is when you pull the stroller out of the trunk of your car, the way you hold it or can hold it, your finger can get stuck in the mechanism where the stroller opens/closes. It will completely immobilize you. When it happened to me, I had to yell at a stranger to assist me as I could not disengage my finger with only one available arm. It is very, very painful when it catches you and would likely amputate a baby’s finger. The exact same thing happened to my husband and he found it extremely painful. Neither of us were seriously hurt but I believe a child or baby would be. There needs to be something to stop the finger from catching in that area.

The product, in the report: http://www.coscojuvenile.com/usa/ENG/Products/For-Travel/Strollers/Convenience-Strollers/Details/2435-CV031AII-Umbria-Stroller

We kept noticing pinch bruise on our baby’s underarms, and couldnt figure out the source of the bruise, we finally figured it out today when our sons arm (skin) got pinched between the folding part of the stroller.
