The product, in the report: Chicco Active 3 jogging stroller eclipse
I filed a [REDACTED] complaint against Chicco who makes a stroller that has brakes that easily fail and the refuse to repair or replace within 1 year of purchase. They are dragging out the process of helping us so they don’t have to do anything.
See below. Complaint: [REDACTED]
I am rejecting this response because:
You left a message on my voicemail requesting photos and video of components of the braking system that are not visible. The ends of the braking system are not visible. I would have to take the stroller apart to take photos and video of components requested. Furthermore you forwarded your original email which is no help. I believe your internet is to be so difficult for us to prove the brakes have failed that people drop the complaints or feel it’s too much effort. Well I think that is a horrible way of doing business. I think you have not been helpful at all and I believe your braking system is faulty and dangerous. I’m filing a complaint with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) at SaferProducts.gov
This is a serious issue and you are avoiding it completely.
Regards,
[REDACTED]

No one hurt Made Nov 13, 2025, sent to the company Nov 19, 2025, published by CPSC Dec 4, 2025
The product, in the report: The product is the Chicco Bravo Primo Trio Travel System in the Springhill color scheme. (Sticker on car seat) Chicco Bravo Primo Travel System Model Name: KEYFIT35 Model No.: 04 079682 330 070 Serial No.: 24 12 06 0059 Manufactured In (DOM): DEC2024 (Sticker on stroller) Product/System Name: Bravo Primo Trio Travel System DOM (Date of Manufacture): 2024-12-10 Model No. (Partial, likely for a component): 04 079682 330 070 Mcode: 10840 SUI# (System Unit Identifier/Batch): 1160143475
The Chicco Bravo Primo Travel System from Chiccos Amazon store was purchased for me. My 10-week-old daughter was in the car seat, properly attached to the stroller. I unfolded the stroller until it was fully locked, confirmed the wheels rolled freely, and made sure the car seat clicked into place. We went on a three-mile walk without any issues. Within the final five minutes, while going over the edge of a standard sidewalk curb (something I’d done multiple times in the same walk), the stroller collapsed folding into itself and the car seat suddenly detached, falling with the top of the car seat hitting the pavement. My baby was inside at the time. I have ceased using the car seat and stroller. This situation was terrifying for us. My husband and I tested the stroller multiple times when we got home and believe it the stroller is not fully opened to the point of clicking, the stroller will not roll without immediately folding into itself. The stroller operated for nearly 3 miles, over multiple terrains, and sidewalks before encountering this issue. The sidewalk curb in question was a normal suburban curb. No additional environmental or user variables to report.

The product, in the report: Chicco Bravo 3-in-1 Quick-Fold Trio Travel System - Parker
I was walking my 2-month old grandson in a Chicco Bravo stroller (3-in-1 Quick-Fold Trio Travel System) on a grassy surface when the stroller suddenly collapsed. Since my grandson was strapped in (it’s a car seat that snaps into the stroller), his head did not hit the ground, thank goodness. Subsequent to this incident, my son was using the stroller and going up a curb, and the stroller suddenly collapsed.

No one hurt Made Feb 9, 2020, sent to the company Mar 9, 2020, published by CPSC Mar 23, 2020
The product, in the report: Chicco BravoFor2 Stroller. A dual stroller for 1 infant and 1 toddler.
The Chicco BravoFor2 Stroller is meant to carry two children--an infant in a carseat and a toddler on a secondary “youth seat” at the back of the stroller. The youth seat has a three-point “waist strap” to hold the toddler in place.
The waist strap buckles on the youth seat are dangerously cheap. Ours broke after about five gentle uses. The clips are plastic (no surprise), but for reasons that defy logic, are designed such that a small piece (a few millimeters thick) is a fail point for the system. If/when that tiny clip plastic tab breaks, the toddler will come spilling out of the back of the stroller and onto the concrete.
Fortunately, we were stopped when ours broke. Our two-year-old had just sat down and I was gently synching the waist straps to be snug around her waist per the instructions (obviously, this was not major force). Then, snap.
Someone is going to get seriously hurt if this this plastic clip decides to break at a less opportune moment (i.e., crossing a street).

No one hurt Made Apr 17, 2017, sent to the company Jul 25, 2017, published by CPSC Aug 8, 2017
The product, in the report: Chicco Bravo stroller Bravo 30 TS Color: Empire SUI# 0501506403 MCode 10840
Chicco Bravo Stroller part of the Chicco Travel System These stroller has a latch system in the bottom of the seat that allows the stroller to fold in half. Twice the plastic that allows for latching has bended while baby is on the stroller with or without the infant car seat. The small piece of plastic bent makes the stroller unstable and starts to fold while baby is in it. This was really dangerous especially because this happens on the street. This stroller is absolutely unsafe and unusable. I have video and pictures of this incident that has happened twice. First time Chicco replaced it with a new one on Feb 2017, this second time I need to report because it is not one but two defective strollers. Someone else in Amazon has commented the same issue with the stroller.

Seen by a doctor or nurse Made Mar 17, 2013, sent to the company Mar 25, 2013, published by CPSC Apr 8, 2013
The product, in the report: Chicco Cortina Baby-Toddler Stroller
My wife had my 3 yr old in the stroller and was coming up the two steps to our front door with my son in the stroller pulling it backwards up the two steps when the entire handle bar assembly of the stroller completely broke off sending my son with the stroller down the steps onto the concrete face down with the stroller on top of him, my wife still holding the completely broken off handlebar piece in her hand. Luckily my son only got a big bump on his head. Our doctor checked him out and he has been fine.
We’ve had the stroller for a few years without any problems until now. Our son is three years old and is about 32lbs more than 10 lbs below the maximum weight stated for the stroller. We have contacted Chicco and reported the incident and are waiting to hear back from them.
They offered to replace the stroller but that is not what we wanted. They want us to send the broken stroller back to them when we receive the replacement frame from them. We were lucky that this was not a fatal accident and both my wife and son are traumatized by the incident. Chicco’s response was cold and legal and left me feeling worse than before. I do not trust them to do what is right in investigating the casue of the accident. It seems clear to me it is a design flaw since the plastic holding the handle assembly on that broke was very thin. I feel I should keep the stroller and have it examined myself.
I have a responsibility to all who may suffer the same sort of accident with likely more serious consequences than we have had.

The product, in the report: Chicco Capri stroller, light green with polka dots
Chicco Capri stroller--the metal bar supporting the left side of the seat snapped at a screw point (where 2 bars come together and support the seat of the stroller) resulting in jagged, sharp edges that scratched my son’s hand deeply. The stroller was purchased 2 years, 8 months ago and was used for our older son until he was 30 pounds, and was just recently pulled out of climate controlled storage to use for our 15-month old son who weighs 23 pounds.

The product, in the report: Chicco Together Stroller
Consumer wanted to report that his daughter’s stroller is a safety concern. The caller stated that the stroller is very susceptible to tipping over if the product is in the folded up position. He stated that the product was not stable and on two occasions his daughter of nearly 2 years old pushed the product over. The consumer’s daughter was not injured in either incident, however she very well may have been. Consumer called the manufacturer 3 months ago and believes he spoke with [REDACTED]. [REDACTED] had told him that they were going to look into the issue and explore any possible design changes. The company called him back on Friday morning May 20th and was told that there were no design changes and offered no other assistance. The manufacturer also told him that something must have exerted a strong force make the stroller topple The consumer has yet to call the retailer. The first incident took place in January, while the second incident took place in the beginning of April. The consumer stated that the stroller is more stable if it is in the folded up position and leaning on a wall, with the storage basket to the wall. The consumer felt it was imperative to report this issue to the CPSC.
