The product, in the report: The Adventure Buggy Co. quad buggy is a durable custom-designed stroller for quadruplets and offers a number of unique advantages, as it grows with your family. Simply start with the Aspire double buggy; add the Duolo upper accessory seat; and you have a quad stroller. Best of all, each seat is suitable for either a newborn or a toddler, making this pushchair a very flexible addition to your family. Convert the Aspire buggy into a quad buggy by adding the Duolo upper accessory seat. If your children are different ages and the eldest outgrow the buggy, you can still use the pushchair for your younger children. Simply remove the upper accessory seat and extension bar and you have a normal twin buggy – there is no need to buy an additional stroller. This quad pushchair has seats that lie flat or recline independently of each other, so it is ideal for newborns as well as toddlers. The quad pram is constructed from tubular steel: it is tough and durable and will last the distance. You’ll receive the following as standard: Aspire twin buggy. Duolo: upper accessory seat for two children. Adapter bar: to fit the Duolo upper accessory seat onto the Aspire twin buggy. Sun mesh: for added sun protection. Rain cover: as well as a foldable canopy constructed from a marine-grade, heavy-duty fabric there’s a heavy-duty clear plastic cover. Leg warmer and snug window: The leg warmer and snug window is easily attached to your Aspire Adventure Buggy Co. pram to keep your child warm and snug while still being able to see through the snug window. The snug window easily zips on and off the canopy. Made from a durable water-resistant canvas-like material with a tough clear plastic window. Storage bag: an appropriately large bag for all the nappies, toys, or your shopping you may need for your brood. The storage bag is zipped for security and privacy, and it’s also waterproof. It detaches easily from the bottom of the Aspire buggy. Optional extras: Solo (top single reclining newborn/toddler seat), including sun mesh and storm cover. Baby mattress pram liner with head support. Drinks holder. Sleeping bag.

Background: we’ve owned around 10 different strollers, from doubles, triples, sit to stands, etc. We found this stroller, with a hefty price tag, thinking it was the best thing ever. It actually is pretty great, goes through all doors, holds 4 kids, turns on a dime, looks decent—but, we uncovered a huge safety flaw. We messaged the company thinking they’d be so shocked...they clearly know about it, and blew it off. They work and ship out of Australia/New Zealand.

The Duolo accessory seat, that sits above the stroller (picture a double jogger, then put two seats above that, yes, in the air. It’s a steel frame), flys off the stroller and crashes to the ground, kids would go head first into the cement with force, if tipped back—the top two seats are for kids 33lbs or less, so you’re more likely to have an infant(s) sit up top. This stroller is around 80lbs, it has a very very short hand strap attached to the top handle bar of the stroller (it should have a low center of gravity, not yank the stroller down in case of an accident). If the user were to lose balance, fall, or just not anticipate a possible tip-back, kids could be seriously injured or killed from the seat flying to the ground. Or, if a toddler decides to hang on the bar (it says never leave the stroller unsupervised, etc), but even if I had the hand strap attached and a kiddo ran up and pulled it down, my children crashing to the floor due to a part flying off shouldn’t occur.

I informed the company thinking they’d be shocked. Their response was that I needed to remove the upper seat prior to closing the stroller. I wasn’t closing the stroller, it tipped back and it crashed onto the cement. I was sure I installed it incorrectly and it was my fault—because this can’t seriously be normal—until we ensured it was correct, and it happened again. They are not alarmed or as concerned as I am. I encouraged them to enact a recall they have not; kids/babies are in these strollers as we speak. I never would have thought this part would fly off and by chance my kids were not in it (I’ll spare you my tirade of what would have happened if they had been...). They offered a quick, please send it back if you’re not happy...but, now it’s so much more than that.

Two simple fixes: move the strap down to the bottom bar and make it longer and then use locking pins to prevent the top seat from hurling to the ground in the event of a fall.

I also have emails from their attorney stating the event is “highly unlikely” to which I responded, doesn’t equate “does not occur”.

If you would like to see the clips of the stroller seat falling or their emails, please email me.
