The reports, as CPSC published them

Reports people made to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission. CPSC publishes each one after sending it to the company named, and doesn’t guarantee they’re accurate. A report isn’t a recall.

Each report is the words of the person who made it, as CPSC published them. The company’s comments, where CPSC published any, are set apart as the company’s own.

  1. Emergency room

Made May 11, 2021, sent to the company Jun 14, 2021, published by CPSC Jun 29, 2021

The product, in the report: Brand: Skiphop Item: Explore & More Jumpscape Foldaway Jumper

My daughter was injured in this item and it needs to be recalled. The straps come unhooked VERY EASILY and it caused her to fall forward, landing on her head, resulting in an emergency room visit. There is absolutely no reason the straps should be held up by tiny metal hooks, other than a cheap choice by the product development team. I work in product design, and the choice to hold the straps up by this metal ring is purely for cost. It is absolutely ridiculous that for $140 the design team had to cheap out on such an important safety measure.

The product, in the report: Skip Hop Silver Lining Cloud Baby’s View 3-stage Activity Center Model 092018 303326

The activity center was being used by my granddaughter who just 3 days prior to her being 5months old. She was trying to teeth on the sheep part of the play center when her mouth began bleeding. The plastic is hard and two pieces are screwed together. It was either the hard plastic or the hard material that the ears are made out of that cut the inside of her mouth between her upper lip and her gums. This caused pain for days following and made it difficult for her to nurse. Knowing that young children teeth I am uncertain as to why hard plastic is being used along with a thick rigid material that can slice open a child’s soft gums.

Made Oct 12, 2019, sent to the company Nov 5, 2019, published by CPSC Nov 20, 2019

The product, in the report: SKIP*HOP Explore & More baby’s view 3-stage activity center

This is regarding the SKIP*HOP explore and more baby activity center. This activity center is for babies 4 months and up. My 6 month old granddaughter was playing with the swaying trees feature, which pulls back, when her finger got caught at the base of the tree. She was unable to get it out. After I got her finger out I put my finger at the base and found how extremely painful this was! There is not excuse for this, as the other toys on the activity center have the base covered so babies can’t get their fingers caught.

  4. No one hurt

Made May 31, 2017, sent to the company Aug 4, 2017, published by CPSC Aug 25, 2017

The product, in the report: Skip Hop Explore and More Amazing Activity Gym. It is round with a plastic arch that can swivel upwards and downwards while baby plays on the mat. On the arch are elements that move and make noise. There are circular plastic rings that affix to each other via the bolt (which was dislodged and is a choking hazard). It is multi colored and has pictures of an owl, fox and porcupine on the round mat.

I have a Skip Hop Explore and More Amazing Activity Gym that my 8 month old baby plays on. On May 13, 2017, I discovered a small plastic bolt measuring 1.5cm X 1.5cm came off from the activity gym. It is a part that secures part of the arch together. Luckily, I found this loose part on the mat before setting my baby down on it. It is most definitely a choking hazard and I would like this item to be recalled. I emailed Skip Hop company on the date of the incident but I have not yet heard back from them.
