Reports people made to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission. CPSC publishes each one after sending it to the company named, and doesn’t guarantee they’re accurate. A report isn’t a recall.

Each report is the words of the person who made it, as CPSC published them. The company’s comments, where CPSC published any, are set apart as the company’s own.

Made Aug 20, 2015, sent to the company Aug 28, 2015, published by CPSC Sep 21, 2015

The product, in the report: The Jolly Jumper with Stand is a jumping mechanism advertised for babies up to 28 lbs. It has a blue harness with straps that connect to a long plastic bar. At the top of the bar is a metal clip that is used to connect the harness to a chain that hangs from the spring. The stand is made of four white metal pipes. The pairs of pipes on each side are connected with a brace that is secured to the pipes with screws and wing nuts.

Our son, who is 6 pounds under the advertised weight limit of the jolly jumper with stand, was jumping. He was correctly in the harness with only his toes able to touch the floor, as the product directions states. As he sprang off the floor, the bottom of the clip that connects the harness to the chain on the end of the spring snapped off. Our son fell flat on his face, had a bloody nose and then bad bruising on either side of his nose. While he did not suffer a concussion (or worse!), he was quite hurt and very scared.
